i can't connect to internet servers

I click "find server" on the main menu, and select one of the internet ones,
but like 1,5 of the way of it loading it says 'disconnected, LAN cennections are restricted.'

And I know know if it means MY connection is LAN I thought it was just Broadband that I got.

it doesnt mean ur internet is lan. it means the server has lan on. meaning on that server sv_lan "1" so try a different server. thats all i can think of.

Usually when that happens you are probably looking at a server listed online but permitting only computers on that LAN to play, like Griffin_3 said. Go and try to connect to a server that you know for a fact is not a LAN, like a famous CS Game Server :)
