whats the diffrence between gf2 mx/400 and a gf4 mx/440(both 64 mb)

of course the GF4 is gonna be better it's newer and the core speed is higher then the GF2 also it depends on what model you have cause I know that some GF4s have faster videoram then the GF2s

well it is of course your choice but personally I wouldn't be caught dead with a GF MX vid card, IMHO a GF3 Ti is better then a GF4 MX

true nice price, i got my GF4 TI 4400 for only 39 bucks from ebay, and i just overclocked it and frame rate is off the hook now, SOF2 i get 125, UT2003 95, BF1942 95-100 not bad

wow lol u used to get 40-50 with the gf2, i couldn't even get more then 20 on SOF2, that's why i wanted a new Graphics Card, in single player framerate used to go to 1 and then 0 lol

well... as I said the Ti versions are better then the MX versions so.... you can get wierd stuff like that happening (a much older card running better then a newer card)

i'm using a TI 4200 right now but just want something that's UP TO DATE and NEW so l8er on i don't have to change cards again and the FX looks like my best option, NICE, FAST, CRUNCY :), and EXPENSIVE lol in NY

As of what I heard with those mx chips, they don't run as fast as older ti. Eg. GF3 Ti is much better than GF4 MX, why? it has more functions and despite costing more, its better than getting MX because with MX you don't get anything much extra compared to the Ti. Whats more is that the GF3 Ti runs as fast as GF4 MX. I'll leave you decide.

I have a Geforce 4 MX 420 and I run smooth. In Battlefield 1942 I used to lag with it when I had 256 DDR Ram running on Windows XP Home and a 2 GHz Pentium 4. I recommend that, if anything, you get 512 DDR Ram (what I currently have now). You run much more smoother and your video card gets pressure taken off of.

LOL, the problem is that its not videocard thats getting all the pressure off. Its because you have very small amount of ram to buffer things up. Basically the more ram you have in your pc, the better it is.

Plus, on top of that you are running xp, try and see how much mem it uses during the normal load. Remove any services that you don't want, defrag etc.
