i really dont like it the server is down so much , i cant log in again , nobody is playing and i cant login , we loose listeners that way , i stick a lot of my time in this , i was whole day busy to change the tags from my songs to play this evening , and now server is dead again .
i really considder quitting the radio , cause i stick my time in this for nothing .

if you don't like that I am sorry, I cannot do anything else, it was up this morning (for me) and it is up now again cause as soon as I got home I restrted it, I cannot and do not want to restart it from college since that it too much of a security risk.

yeah but not with the server. If anyone gets it they're gonna be an admin and that's final deal with it. Radio has always been and always will be secondary, forums are always #1 and thus server security is #1 too. It is also not that I don't trust some people here it's that I worry about server being screwed up by a wrong command typed in, and that is just a risk I am not willing to take.

yeah if you've ever worked with linux or webservers in general you will find shell's to domore than a desktop basically what the shell is, is the true system and is much more powerful than any window system is so basically when you give someone shell access they can access the computer from anywhere and do anything, it's a handy but dangerous tool

especially since I cannot really limit the shoutcast shell account because it needs write and execute premissions and those are very dangerous
