MAC Vs Windows (All Versions)

Out oif those 2 What is the most prefered, Easy to use, best for Work, Gaming, programming, etc

it depends it's hard to judge it all round I'd say linux if I had to choose one OS

I would say NetBSD (text only, real stuff) or Mandrake (GUI, real stuff) or Windows 2k (games) or Mac OS (Photoshop)

windows XP Pro is you want games it's same as 2k but even a bit more stable

hmm.... I've had my XP Pro version for some time now already and it's pretty damn stable, very few crashes and no memory leaks :D

I've barely had problems with XP, it usually fixes itself up, thats my favorite feature of XP...By the way, where is the actual Poll in this poll....?

I agree with wooolF's choice, but when it comes to Windows luck777jojo has a very good point... I have used all the Windows OS and I notice more stability in XP than 2k.. Maybe it is the way I have set it up.. But it is more stable than 2k no matter the use I have for it..

My both pcs have XP Pro and both of them are running normally and really stable.
I vote for XP.

since yer a mod, i have to respect you, but wtf were you drinkin and/or smokin when you posted that? Windows XP has to be the low of all operating systems ever (macs aside). THere are so many memory and security leaks that its not even funny, and the damn visual frills and themes slow down the computer A LOT. Nothing's compatible with it yet and every driver causes a problem. I have a wireless network, and you know what error message I get?! "A network cable is unplugged." My network is wireless! It has no cables! I've also gotten this error several times. "Microsoft has determined that something bad happened." You explain that one to me, cuz I still don't know what's wrong.

XP's greatest achievement, IMO, is the flag. It's a helluvalot prettier. ;)

Other than that, I've taken out the GUI, ****ed with almost everything imaginable with it.. and it looks almost exactly like 2k, except 2k has alot less drivers embedded.. and XP has alot more support from microsoft..

but 2k in it's best stage is exactly the same in stability with someone who knows wtf they're doing.. and after servicepack 1 for xp, 2k is in the lead by 1% in all categories :P

Uhh Yah..... You have something better you can offer that has up to date support for everything? I bet its your head thats messed up. Just my opinion. Yeah WinXP isnt very secure, ask S7ATiC. LoL we all know that one man! Anyways, get over it. XP is the best for now

True, XP is the best for now, i have not had 1 intrusion into my computer or anything to that matter. Dunno about leaks but the only security leak i know was already patched by Microsoft in Service Pack 1. Any problems with windows XP have fixed themselves and i think without windows XP i would so desperatly need a new computer.

I have to disagree with you all. I think that XP is a "dumbed down" version of other earlier versions. I guess overall, XP is better for the general public, because its easier to use, but in general, I favor the older versions. I use 98, even though its very outdated.

windows ME was a rushed pre release of windows... they ****ed that up and was teh worse version in all of windows history... b4 xp and me, 98se was best because it was most stable... i then moved onto win2k which was more stable but now i use xp pro because even better :P
btw, build 2600 is the final build that was sold everywhere so i guess 98% of people have build 2600

I would have to say Win2k has been my favorite. XP pro is alright, but I don't like the "eye candy" of xp. May go back to Win2k adv as well. Found out how to use more of the tools so that is also a good os.

personally I don't like the DEFAULT eye candy for winXP.... if you customize it WinXP can give you a much nicer desktop then Win2k could, and I just can't stand a computer with a dull desktop.
