Hey, im really really new at DJin, but I wanna be one. Can someone tell me what to do? I am totally lost, have no previous experience with any aspect. I just got the trial versions of SAM3 AtomicMP3 and even VirtualDJ, can someone tell me where to begin and help me succede in the area so i can advance to the next stage. Also i have some "crazy" questions...
1. What does a DJ really do?
2. What do you mean by "mixing music"?
3. Whats que used for?
Those are just some of my questions. I know people say im stupid and should give up, but can someone take me in as their pupil?

1. A DJ in real terms plays music and mixes two or more songs together. In this we mean someone who just plays one song.
2. Mixing Music: playing it.
3. Its a list of songs that will be played after the song like this:
Currently Playing - Leper Messiah -> Metallica
Que
Master of Puppets -> Metallica |
Survive -> Dope |
___________________________|
What this means is that after Leper Messiah is done playing the broadcast will automatically play Master of Puppets

First you need to get a broadcaster such as SAM2 and read the tutorial on it that luck777jojo posted. Then you need to sign up to be a DJ in the correct thread (should be stickied in the forum). But you need 25 posts. Just don't spam for those posts and you'll be on your way

I think SAM3 should be somewhat similar to SAM2. Check the SAM2 tutorial and compare it with SAM3 and see if theres any similarity

SAM3 is very similar to SAM2, few minor differences which should be easy to work out by yourself, if you have any questions just post the specific question and someone will try to answer it.

Is this the tutorial you guys are talking about?
http://www.mpcforum.com/sam2/sam2_tutorial.htm
All it talks about is how to configur your thing to broadcast very well, it doesnt say how to use it or mix. I also still dont get the term mix, like what do you mix 2 songs together so that 1 comes out?

Let me correct Sky's answers first:
1. What does a DJ really do?
- A DJ has to make music play continuously and (at parties) construct a steady beat trough the mix so that dancers aren't interrupted in their dancing.
2. What do you mean by "mixing music"?
- Mixing music with SAM is hardly possible. Mixing is the pitching, beatmatching and fading of a song and is only possible with more advanced DJ programs. You don't have to mix on the radio. If you play rock you better just put the songs in a queue, mixing rock songs is usually a bad idea.
3. Whats que used for?
- The que is the list in which order the songs will be played.

This is all i had to correct.
