i got that steam thing.. and when I try to join a server.. It freezes.. It also never downloaded the game for me either.

When I try to join CS Servers.. It says cant join or some error.. But Opposing Forces.. It downloads whatever needs to be downloaded. :(

Well.. I did on Opposing Forces when trying to join.. But when I tried joining a CS 1.6 Server. ... I get the game is unavailable. I dunno. Hurry with 1.6 final! How long can it take to add a few new weapons and features.
