[Question] -HW BAN-

Hello All,

Most Of You May Not Know Me Here On MPC But Seen Me In-Game. The reason i have such a low post count is because i see no reason to acctually "post".... but dont get me wrong, i read the forums almost everyday and am very up-to-date with all the news and everythign else posted.

My Problem: recently i was HW-banned from all PB-servers by PB on AA. after many attempts to contact PB support i was denied the right to be unbanned. my question is; "IF" i change my NIC and HD is that a 110% garantee that i will be unbanned? because i have a 30GB HD that i wanted to backup and change to a 50GB that i have lying around just to lazy to format and resetup windows, and purchasing a $5 NIC is not a problem... but i fi do this is it 100% second-chance?

First of all, read this:

Second of all, if your too lazy to read it then do this:
1a. Buy a new SCSI or SerialATA HDD
1b. Set up the new SCSI HDD with a RAID controller (SerialATA Drives need no other work.)
--PB is now unable to read your hard drive.
2. Buy a new NIC card, or you can use SMAC 1.1 (which is found in the MPC Downloads Section here, http://www.mpcdownloads.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2923) but I recommend replacing your card.
3. Re-Install AA completely, as to clean up your system folder where some unnamed hack ****ed up your gaming experience.
4. And finally, to remain un-banned, stay away from public hacks, lol.

This works, I have been hardware banned several times... The first time is always the worst, trust me.

PB HW bans are based off the hdd (first 10) and MAC addys (USB, NIC and Firewire); u have to remove the banned hdd otherwise PB will still detect and kick you.
Change and/or remove the hard-drive(s), disable and remove any firewire and network cards and replace.
Best thing to do for hdd is to use RAID (0 = Performance!) as PB cannot ban the hard-drives in a RAID array.

for those of you who dont want that hd space wasted you can buy the raid adapter or you can get an usb to ide adapter. Today i got mine so i wouldnt have to reboot to take the hd out to play PB protected games. it was a pain to setup but i finally figured it out. You can play with the hd plugged in while in pb games. i bought it so i could easily unplug it, but i dont have to, Cheers

If you use SATA hdd for Windows/Programs and IDE (PATA) hdd for data/backups; this way all you need do is disable the IDE based hard-drives and PB won't kick if they're banned.
Not a pretty way to do things but it works.

hey guys, I have 2x 200gb HDs that are banned lol. i need/use the data on them on a daily basis and i was thinking...if i buy 2 RAID HDs (cheap ones with say 30GB each) would i be able to put those in with my 200GB ones, but use the old ones when i need them and the new RAIDs to play games? as in switch em on and off when i please? or is that what u mentioned above? Also, if i did do it this way then id have to swap the windows crap over to the new ones right? lol sorry but im a clown with this sorta stuff. Cheers.

I wonder if its possible to flash the bois with a modded version to change serial. or Id used by PB…I know video cards have programs.. were you can change almost anything …hard rives you can flash the bois as well…or at least buy a new one replace the circuit board with yours and return the new drive…I do it all the time because I don’t want to loose the data on my failed drive.. if the circuit board was the problem…often it is.
and on the 200 gigs drives no you cant.. well you can mix the 200's and 30's but the 200's would have to be formatted to 30 gigs as well .. so not feasable. you could make a riad 0 out of the two 200's and should be ok though

120 gb maxtor
80gb maxtor

but they are banned, if i put them in raid 0 , my mobo support that:)
do i got unbanned then ?

And my only alternative.. is to use my windows ME computer which is upstairs, with a completely different hardware setttings etc to the one i am using now, will everything run fine on that computer with AA etc?

Raid 0 mean its striped….or you have two drives running like one,,,,, strictly performance….raid 1 is mirror.. meaning you have two drives doing the same thing in case one fails you have a back up..
In order for you to make a raid 0 you first need a mother board that has raid built into it.. most do….or you can buy a raid card that goes in the PCI slot under the graphics card…
But you would have to complete reformat both drives to 80 gigs so there the same then set up a raid 0,,,,,no as hard as it sounds

I really need help, just got banned 2 days ago H/W Ban. Ive tried almost everything, used smac 1.1 on my network cards to change the mac adress. Used a hdd spoffer by injecting it, only problem here is i get no sound and get kicked for blocked O/S privalges. The raid 0 thing can that be done with one 40gb hdd or do you need two.

You need 2 HD for RAID and you also have 2 type of RAID structures.
