Hi,
I've somewhere downloaded the Ultimate crosshair released by erazer.
He's claiming that it works for all games, such as Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Halo, Half Life, Counterstrike, Doom, ...
This "dot crosshair" is some kind of programma which is running in the background all the time. So it's visible when you're working in Word, surfing the net and... playing games. This could be really useful on FEAR, COD2, ... but it doesn't seem to work.
When the game starts, the crosshair isn't visible anymore! It's just displaying a mouse pointer and when I click with my mouse once, the game returns to my desktop in windows. So I assume the game developers have already unabled the functionality of this "program" :dead:
Any way I can get this to work?

Hello,
The problem is most likely caused by CoD 2 running in fullscreen mode. While the game makes it impossible to run the game windowed using /r_fullscreen 0, I know of one public windowing program for CoD 2. It was released on EliteCoders.org when CoD 2 first came out.

It's rather simple to use - just rename your existing rendering .dll (to act as a backup version), and put this .dll in its place. Hopefully your program will be able to draw on the CoD 2 window afterwards.
If that doesn't work and all you need is a crosshair hack, try wurzils' or use a dry erase marker on your monitor's screen.

yeah, It's mainly because I want to get rid of the sticker-on-my-screen "hack" :shy:
It's leaving some dirt and I don't like to clean you know...

Ulitmate Crosshair has been out for years and can be used with nearly any game, including those that support PB. Since PB was never programmed to detect it with all those other games, I doubt the Client for CoD 2 would be programmed to detect it. You should be safe since it doesn't modify memory.
As for the crosshair screen alignment, there isn't much you can do for CoD 2. Modifying / reverse engineering the windowing .dll could work if done correctly (don't even ask how to do it). Play around with different resolutions and see if it helps.

Why are people so scared to experiment? Since the author of this thread claims that the Ultimate Crosshair program does not work in fullscreen mode, only windowed mode is left for you to experiment with. The reason why it's off-center in windowed mode is because of the CoD 2's title bar. Maybe try to find a Windows theme that as small title bars.

Thanks for the update. I've been using this type of marker for a while and hope the next PB update doesn't detect it:

It's a pain having to play the game with my room all purple, but it's the price you have to pay when dealing with an advanced cheat detection engine.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but for some reason elitecoders is no longer working, and I was wondering if there were any other places to download that dll file.

Nope, that wasn't really my hand - Googled for "invisble marker" or something similiar and got that.
