Hardware Ban, Different OS

The question here is, if I were to be hardware banned, it is known that if you switch to linux you will become unhardware banned. So essentially, could you switch to a different OS like, Windows XP Home to Pro, or possibly from Windows XP to 2000? What have people tried or have knowledge about for this topic?

Also does AA support Windows 98, and is this an option for me aswell?

the only OS that wont result in hw ban is linux, try running a windows emulator on linux and see if you can run windows version of AA

I never of an ISP that does not allow Linux. Why would they block it? Maybe AOL?
