I've installed Linux SuSE 10.0 because of a hwban.
Now I cant get a connection.

I've got Eminent. I dont think its through a router because downstairs we have only one router which is wanadoo live box. when i put in the usb stick for internet at windows, it automaticly connected to internet, but when I did this to Linux, nothing happened...

I AM A NOOB WITH LINUX AND CODING......and internet connections, i can only move my weapon to a head of an enemy.. hehe..

Someone, help meh ?:(

The linux you have probley doesnt have the drivers for your ethernet card or it isnt setup right. Theres a program that comes with most linuxs and if not you can download it but its to setup your internet. I forgot what its called but its something like ndiswrapper or something like that. I havent used linux in a long time. You also might have better luck in seeing if the linux distro your using has a forum.

I'm gonna go with what everyone else here said and say you need to make sure to install your wireless USB dongle drivers.

you better pray to god though that your usb dongles has linux drivers though, some down't and it's a real pain since you will either need to convert the drivers yourself (which is almost impossible unless they're open source, which is even less probabbly) or just get another usb dongle which has been tested as being supported by your linux version.

Personally my SuSe box is connected directly through my NIC and SuSe detected it fine when I installed first time.... my laptop on the other hand I never seemed to be able to get any live linux distro to detect the built in wireless card so..... I sorta dropped the whole wireless thing with linux for now :x

Maybe I'll try again sometime but.... ATM using a wired connection seems like the easiest route.
