Invalid cd key?

I got in a spearhead server yesterday and I couldn't get in because of Invalid cd key......how can i fix it? :dead:

no, there is a fix because the lastest patch ****ed all legit and non-legit keys... everyone is having issues.

that puts a damper on things. I'm also getting some nasty lag issues despite having a quick connection. you would think that by lowering the settings and using no foilage/no fog/ultra bright it would be less demanding on the video card. True/false?

true, because when u lower ur video settings to almost nothing, you will see that the bushes are gone. also i find it easier playing on low settings with neons because its easier to see em.

It's not the first issue SH has had. To put it bluntly, it's a bodge. People roll around on their arses shooting you while you're still trying to work out why the crappy AA gun won't work. Sounds good to u? Have fun then...

i dunno, im gonna install spearhead here in a few hours (8 or so depending on how long it takes to reformat) but i have about a page of cd keys.... it would be interesting to see though if this is a problem 4 legit copies. btw, zobroc i remove dur post... no warez/no-cd's/cdkey links

you know what the funny thing is. I just got the expansion pack for Bf1942 and Guess what message i got. Invalid Cd-Key!?! Ahh this thing is driving me crazy! I will have to find another cd-key from a friend or something. I want to see what happens when i put different keys in.

im not arguing with c00ki3 coz hes admin and he knows what hes talking, but technically it's legal to use a nocd/reg patch so long as u have a legit copy of the game and are only using it on one pc.

Same here, I bought the original aswell and get the same Invalid Cd thing, But to be honest i really only started getting it when i added the Mod's and stuff, Coincidence??????, Not sure, Only way to check it out is to reformat and try again,

hmm ive never had these problems with spearhead but i had them loads with RTCW when i was playing that... and they use the same engine. But i don't think its only the mods that cause it. If u install the new patches (like 1.11) WHILE the mods are in the "mohaa/mainta" folder then it could possibly cause that sort of problem.

look out for it your self this has something to do with it

Hmmmm... Been reading this thread with some interest... And would like to throw in my 2 cents...

Well first of all, I don't really think the mods have anything to do with invalidating the key-codes, as I've used most of them quite successfully on my MOHAASH. Though the No-CD Crack MAY be suspect in this case... I've heard all these problems by users before and so I did a little experimenting.. I own legitimate copies of MOHAA, MOHAASH, and BF1942.. and this is what I did;

I made a 1:1 copy of the programs using special copy software. I installed from the copies, and applied a random key-code. game worked fine off CD Copies until I applied the EA patches...After patching, The CD-Copies no longer would worked, and the Random Key-Codes went invalid. Applied a NO-CD Crack. Game loaded but still dead Key-Codes. Apparently EA are not bunch of fools.. they tweak the copy protection in their update patches and seem to have started using a Key-Code process similar to CS.. where it seems you need a so-called "legit" key.

BUT NOTICABLY: I went back did a whole new re-install of the 1:1 CD Copies and used the legit keys, and patched the game, and the results of that experiment were almost the same.. Still the 1:1 copies would not work obviously.. and upon putting the NO-CD Patch on the game, I got many random failed connections to servers.. USING A LEGITIMATE PATCH.

FINAL WORD on this whole matter is, if you do own all legit copies of the game, you should not have any problems, even after patching.. well note that you *should not*, but that doesn't mean you won't... I actually did have problems the first time I installed SH.. It was horribly slow finding servers, alot of the servers denied me, and when I did connect, My game crashed alot at random. However for once EA did give me some good advice, which might also help you; THey suggested I totally uninstall the ENTIRE game, Wipe out the EA GAMES directory, and cleanse the registry of all MOHAA presence... then go back... Install MOHAA (Do NOT RUN IT AFTERWARD), Install MOHAASH immediately after that, and then patch it... I tried that and the game now runs incredibly smooth, and I haven't had one problem since then, even using all the mods and cheats! give it a try if you reach your wits end.

One thing though are you saying that if two people are using one copy of MOHAA then the keycode will be invalidated (like CS)? I don't know whether it's because we share an ip (network) but me and my brother have no problems... Or is it just when you copy the game the keycode becomes illegitimate?

no they were doing something with the servers but it's fixed now and it's evilmg42 my old account did something wierd and stopped working so please don't warm me

Well not exactly, I just noticed with CS, alot of the keys from the random generators never worked on the legit servers... seemed to me the same way while experimenting.. but was never 100% sure... From what I read here so far, I guess you can use a valid code on the same server as many times as you want.. Awsome!

I got spearhead way before it was released and had the same problem with the invalid CD-Key about 3 weeks ago. i love the game so much i ended up just buying the damn game lol. i guess that probably the best way to sort yer problem. :p
