Animated Avatars

Hello....Do the animated avatars slow the forum down in any way, as in taking up to much bandwidth or that they take longer to load.

If they are within the normal size constraints they won't slow forums down at all as long as you have a decent PC..... even a bad pc wouldn't have any real lag.....

i dont get the point of the avatar...but i think they slow down the forum if they are hosted on same server

the avatar is 1/4 mile drag racing......0 to 300 in 5 seconds or less,
the flames are nitro methane that they use for fuel....the motors have a couple thousand hp & if the animated avatar's slow things down in here I won't use it:classic: :classic:

Gif animation. Flash avatars are not allowed on this forum because of security issues

ya i saw when i right clicked it was a .gif. paintshop pro or something sim you usd to create that ? I use a few things but i'm not a gif person much. Nice work though.

Nope not slowing my computer down.. and i dont think it has so much with the animation to do if it cause lag.. cause i guess an animated one in the same size as a normal ione should cause the same lag..

so did u make it rookie or imported a movie or sumthin and converted it to gif??????

avi constructor, free program does that. takes a movie frame by frame and converts it for you to gif or any format to use in paintshop pro GIF studio thing whatever that is...i don't use it - or similar programs for making gifs.

I think they do slow down forums cause warcraftiii.net just banned all avatars and sigs. Even thoguh i think they should keep them anywys it makes browsing forums more interesting and purty:laugh:

well they probably do slow down the forums somewhat since they take up bandwidth but..... we have a fast host and right now it shouldn't be a problem so....... don't worry about it.
