Those of you familiar with the great work of Douglas Adams will undoubtedly know that the answer to life, the universe and everything is said to be 42. Well according to new links found between math and quantum physics the said answer really is no longer just fiction but is in fact reality.

1. yes it is from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
2. no not from the movie but the book, or actually the radio show which was before the book

and the reason I'm posting this is because it was scientifically proven that the actualy number 42 has actual important implications, and that thanks to 42 a very important mathematical theory has been proven to be true so is no longer just a well known theory but has actually been proven.

that's a neat trick BTW I remember doing similar things to mess with the heads of some of the people in some of my classes :P

yep quite simple its not (1+5) x (8+1) which would equall 54...
its the 1+ (5 x8 ) + 1 which equals 42...


but yea your right everything is equal to 42 ( or if you realy like mysteric numbers in my case phi = 1.6180339887 ) very intriguing number for the uneducated members of the community.. check it out

42 is not a prime number it is the 3rd number in Riemann zeta function which is used to map out prime numbers
