would extracting the dc texture.rfa and move it to texturesets/dc/ then override the files with your hax then change the path in the maps to texturesets/dc/map make this hax work with DC

toadpeon in your readme.txt you say that fog has been removed in each map. what do you mean by that? you set the visibility to some value or what?

It does not say fog removed in every level, it says fog hack for every level.
So it just gives you better visability and pushes back the fog a ways. When I set the values I kept computer performance in mind, so on some levels the visibility is not as good as others.

I can't seem to get the skin hacks to work for RtR. I see you put them in your new release, but none of them seem to work. I followed your readme to the "t" too. Works great for bf but having trouble with rtr.

Great, I don't play DC but alot of ppl have been asking for that.
And yes that's cool about the skins, it's all preference. I just try to keep the original game as intact as possible. It's kinda cartoonish when you have complete green/red models hoping about.
Also I don't think your package is going to work with RtR. Does it? Im not sure. And It wont patch the RtR skins the way you are doing this too.

Just one thing on some servers there is an error message like:
"corrupt data" and therefore its not possible to connect.
Are u familiar with this issue?

Im glad that you were able to get all of it working. That means I have not messed up and the other ppl that are complaining can't follow directions.
There has nothing been done in this mod that would create a "corupt data" error. Are you using a no-cd? Perhaps reinstalling the game would help.
I have more cheats, but before I release anymore I would like to see others post their cheats here as well.

Ok, 2 things:
1. I didnt have the folder xpack1, so i had to make that (maybe its the same for all, but my impression from your description was that this folder exists and that u just exchange whats inside)
2. I dont have RtR and therefore I didnt make these xtrafolders (ofcourse)
Could something of this **** up connections with some bf servers?
My BF1942 installation is with a cd key that I bought and I dont use any NO-CD patch..
Ofcourse its understandable that U want something back before u give.. yeah it sucks when u become aware of how many hours u spend in coding, understanding and developing this kind of solutions in a game like BF. It does not get better when suckers reply like: "whats the point in telling us about it if u dont share it? give us the cheat or shut the **** up!!" Most of these people need to at least trye..use the tools..extract..exchange..experiment..and U WILL GET SO MUCH RESPECT for solutions like This hack from Toadpenon.
And
Its not that much work when u become familiar with the tools and how the game works.. but that means many hours in understanding..

braincooler, if you do not have rtr than there is no need to make the folder called xpack1.
This will still work just fine with the standalone bf1942. I assume you are using 1.3 patch version. Just do everything in the instuctions except for things that ask you to modify the init.con in the expack1 folder and creat new rtr map folders.

Artmoney works great!! just search all integer values 100 and then change the distance to 85 and sleeve all the results to less. the value your seaching for has 4 bytes

Supazxpres .. yeah I know its a good tool and i've already done the thing with fog and and integervalues and its not needed anymoore since Toadpeon came out with his excellent work. I was more of interested in other possibilitys with tools like ArtMoney and BF 1942. Do u know any?

Finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I was "adding" what you had to the init file instead of replacing what was already there with what you had. Works great now. Thanks Toad. Awesome work again!

i know your a noob so i try to help you....
you need to extract the rfa files to the root of battlefield so there is created a new map called \texure
now you have to extract the texures.zip file with the help of winzip in your the battlefield directory so that the texures flies places automatic in your new \texture directory and it overwrites some of the texure files.
once you have done that you have to rename the rfa files you have extracted to you battlefield\texure directory so the game doesn't use those files but start looking at your new texure directory
just keep trying!!! and you will finaly come there

Being that im new to this forum but have read old posts in here..
I downloaded toads rar file and its pretty easy to follow once i installed merc 3.7 with all options check (even tho they dont work yet for 1.3).Anyways im looking at all your posts in here and dont see anywhere in his readme about extracting that file to the root.Did i miss something or did toad edited his file and resubmitted his download after you all posted here.Here is his readme as follows as of 2-12-03
1) Replace the following into your init.con located in bf1942/mods/bf1942:

4) Go to your bf1942/TextureSets/bf1942 directory and make six (6) new folders. Next RENAME those folders after the new RtR maps (like anzio, baytown....). If you screw UP here this stuff wont work.
5) Take my skins located in this archive and PASTE them into every folder, both the original map folders and the new rtr map folders that you just created.

in this file there is a texures.zip file that you have to extract in the root, when you do that your have complete green and red skins and desert combat support
such as complete view in the apache

Hey all, I decided to update Toadvision abit.
I have included some weapons tweaks, which do the following:
1. Sniper Rifle in non-zoomed mode now has aiming sights.
2. Increased view distance in binocs.
3. Increased View distance in all other weapons.
The view distance was only increased slightly, as making all the weapons into sniper rifles dramatically reduces performance. But the point is that you will see the enemy first, which is what this is all about.
So re-download and install it over again, if you want the weapon tweaks.

Thanks NastyImp i guess i should be clearer i have toads pack working no problems i meant that the merc mod as stated on their site doesnt work all the way for 1.3 they say they are working on textures still.Weird cause his gun sights are working fine for me.Anyways Toad great job on that pack.. parachutes are kewl easier to see when they are in clouds.I can see that i have a degrade in performance tho so i dont know how long i will used it.Toad is the merc mod causeing the game to load slower.I have noticed the progress bar on loading screen has change in texture.I didnt know if that was your pack or the merc mod.If it is Merc's then i want to change that screen back to normal maybe that might help.I used to be the first one in game being on a T3 and a fast AmD but now im like 7th :( I must say the merc mod gun sights gave me a 15% better kill ratio tho.Toad maybe there is a way to unlock the camera view of when you died.I dont know if this is server side i think it may not be cause when i died i can fly around map and recon base to see if anyone is in there.If this was server side i would think it would lag server out cause it would be a speed cheat and teleporting at the same time and you all know that would seriously lag out server.If it is not maybe i can get under the hood and see if it can be hotkey in.I would call it "sat view" lol.That being said i would try to take it further and look at trying to increase distance of nades cause you have a ret on that view which means i should be able to get exact position on map xyz cordinates and maybe send nade to that area.What you guys think is it server side??

Holy there is still fog. There is no way to get rid of it. You can only push it back, and I chosen values that would still perform well on almost all systems.
Now on my computer I have changed the values ALOT, and you really do not see much fog. But if I handed this mod out like that many ppl would have major performance problems.
OABTW, I work alone. And juroz next time make your own create your own thread so we do not have as much confusion OK???

There never seems to be a stand alone 3rd person view on foot mod. Is this a common easy to do procedure ? would be nice to have it back as in the early days.

awesome, MC are releasing new versions soon. I guess you will update your hack?
Also there are some other very popular maps out there, any chance of doing the minimal fog edit for those, like "a bridge too far" "caen" etc.. there are a couple more.. but just the ones used on popular servers.
I guess i could look into it myself, but would be better to get them all at once from one source.
I dont bother with the other skins, they take the fun away, but i like the fog distance adjustments.

I havnt been reading much on these forums, though i was curious about your hack. I tried it, and followed the readme as it was written. Though some of my textures and models are white. I wasnt sure if this was the hack, because some things are hard to see, i mean i cant really tell whos on my team. As well as the sky textures being white i cant see the planes flying overhead. If it isnt to much trouble, please tell me what i might of done wrong... if i did anything wrong at all. ...thanks

UC= UnknownCheets.com but replace the 2nd e in cheets with an "a". Reason is they filter the actual word cheats. That site allows a lot more in their posts then here. Only problem is for some odd reason, everytime I login, the next page I visit to, I am no longer logged in. Its very weird.

you have to cookie yourself.
there is an option on the bottom of the page (on the uc site) that does this, then everything works fine.

toadpeon, dude I done logged in several ways like 50 different times. Its like the sec I go 1 page in, my cookie is expired. Everything with my cookies work just fine at other sites. UC is the only place I have this problem. After I login into UC, it brings me up to the main forum index and it shows I am logged in. Then I try going into any forum, and bam I am logged out. If I am logged out, I cant see any of the threads but the sticky one saying to login. I try logging in again over and over, same thing happens everytime.

O I know the problem then, you need to go to Tools/Settings/temporary net files, click on settings and then choose "every visit to the page".
Problem solved?

Nope, still happens. I even tried clearing all my cookies and tried.

you have to go to internet explorer options, then privacy, then allow all cookies. Also making sure that if you have a firewall, that its not blocking them as well.
