i read the posts, i'm just wondering how the games can cause such a massive load? isn't it just loading the game, playing (which doesn't affect the server) and submitting the score (tiny traffic load)... does the loading create the server-raping traffic?

Most likely because of shitty programming/scripting. Maybe we can give it a go again some time in the future, but there are more important things to be done for now. :)

Everytime somone visits the arcade new queries have to be run to load up all the games (1 database querie per game), load up the scores, etc., etc.

I might give the arcade another shot in a while since I've been optimizing the server alot lately. That is if the problems with the slow loading times are finally fixed now :x
