So yeah, mods either warn the starter of thread and remove link/password, or unedit mine ;[

you wern't warned, just alerted (you didnt get any warning points). As i see it, the poster didnt take credit for anything and is obviously having problem with the attachment system. if the author does not want his application posted here, id be glad to remove the file anytime.

I simply cracked it to make a point. Password protection is so easy to defeat. They didn't believe me, and dared me into cracking it. So I did and I also let everyone know :crazy: I am evil muhahahahaha...

Well, someone cracked it before me. I saw a pic of him using ZE, but I wasn't convinced he did crack it (he was bluffing saying he cracked it with W32Dasm and Hex Workshop) and he couldn't do it with Olly. Thing is - there are not strings to hold on to when using W32Dasm. The password-box strings are memory passed inside the installer. Only way to do it is to use Olly and break on GetDlgItem when trying to input a wrong password. If you get to the compare function, you'll see the password to which your wrong input is compared to :)

And yeah, that guy that "leaked" (that's the only word you know nowadays) IS ME. And again, I didn't leak it, I was proving a concept, based on which - password protection and installers SUCK BIG TIME !

Mostly C++, but I am a beginner :) I mean, I know debugging and memory sniffing like an open book. Coding just isn't my line of work. Seems so complex, and yet so boring to get to study it all.

I basically got to know a little Delphi when I first modified the 5.2 source. It's true, Dark Byte helped a lot, can't deny that. Now Delphi sounds so nice. Dunno why people hate it though :)
