The forums were not attacked, and they haven't been down. Some people have had trouble connecting since our primary DNS is having tech problems. It should be fixed soon, but I will make no promises. To bypass this problem, you may use the following steps:
1) Go to your Windows root directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
2) Open the hosts file in notepad
3) Now, add these lines to the end...
85.214.39.26 mpcforum.com
85.214.39.26 www.mpcforum.com
4) Save the file
You may have to use IE to make this work, but I don't know for sure. I think it should be okay for Firefox as well. Obviously, if you are reading this, you aren't having a problem anymore... but this should be kept for future reference, as I am getting pissed off at people who keep spamming IRC about it :x. Also, if you have any friends who are having trouble, please tell them!
If you have had no trouble accessing the site, then it is probably because you have DNS cache enabled in your firewall.
When MPC is back to normal, I will try to remember to post about removing those lines from your hosts file.
