silver membership

What do you have to do to get silver membership and waht does being silver member consist of?

Silver membership? I too would like to find out what this is :confused:

Silver membership is for those people who have been here for quite sometime and have been very supportive of the community. Those peopel who do get silver membership have been I believe a moderator for this board. Silver has a lot of benefits that I am not able to say right now. But be very supportive of the community and keep your nose clean and in good time you'll be a moderator and you will get your chance to be a silver.

Ok, here are the paths to silve membership:

1) Help out all the time, do so much for this forum that it doesn't matter whether you can code or not, nor whether you contribute in that way.
2) Help out some, and contribute/submit all you can code to silvers and the community.

Once you get in silver, you have the honor of having that title, as well as several other benefits, such as advanced coding help and private cheats that others might choose to submit.

Ok... ballpark how long do you have to be an active member of the community and how many posts do you have to have to become a moderator?

posts and length of time you have been here don't actually matter alll that matters is how much you helped during the time that you ARE here, if you've been a member for 2 years and have 2000 posts but all of them are pointless and help noone you won't get mod status but if you've been here for several months and during that time have shown yourself as a very helpfull person and if one of the forums that you're most active in needs a mod you might get it.

You will also get a pm about it. To become a silver member, you need a current silver or gold to start a vote for you.

If oyu are ever planning on being a silver member, I would suggest being on IRC a good deal, that is how I and many others get to know members of the forum very well.

I'm not to familiar with IRC. Seems interesting and yet boring. There have been rare chances that I have been on IRC like something VERY IMPORTANT and EXTREMELY URGENT! and it really took me a lot of time to work to become a mod. I'm happy where I am right now. :P

yeah I like irc but i don't use it unles it's important. thats me though. I can show some more aspects of my personality but not everyone can see it like they can in a post - so that info is lost which might be vital to hooking up with like-minded people who just werent on IRC at the time I spoke out about something.

IRC - Internet Relay Chat. can be usefull, good for meetings with a mass of people or ether just to talk to other mpc.de members, but dont knock irc you can custumise your irc clients make scripts or even build your own client/scripts. Also if you are on irc you can help people a lot of people like to come into the chan to ask for help becuase they think they'll get it on teh spot so if ya can be in irc to help out the people :)

irc is very good but its got one big prob with it to meny hackers there that try to hack in to your computers
apart from that it very good but i have been trying to get back in to irc but i think aol as stop me from going in there
dont know why i got away around it im geting new isp so i can go back in :}

lol 1337 Hax0rZ on IRC lol, don't worry I doubt that anyone on IRC how can really hack a computer will actually try to do it.... in most cases only "n00bs" will say that they are going to "HAx0rZ" you :p

AOL Cannot prevent you from entering IRC to my knowledge..... As for the supposed hackers trying to crack your PC, umm....... Maybe on Dalnet or some other large network there could be a few..... Rizenet is not such a large issue ;).

umm i was in the irc channel early feb, and got a virus and told wooolF about it (ask him). He took care of it, so its possible. That was the only chan I had ever been too on irc with this pc and it was irc related. thieving style.
