I was just wondering if there is some way I can get in touch with you with some questions. I can't access the private message system because I'm under the required posts and I don't feel like being a llama spammer just to get to that point. I do have some legit questions for you and you said you'd help out. Thx.

My latest toadvision has increased zoom with all weapons, but if you want to change them so they are all like sniper rifles then yull have to get your hands dirty. The instructions on how to do these things have been posted in this forum. So I do not feel like reiterating them....
LongJohnson, you created this thread so you might as well just ask your question here. That is what this forum is for.
Toadpeon...
I would greatly appreciate some advise regaurding weapon accuracy (no, not related to any sort of aim-bot). Bf-1942 is fairly new to me as I have been quite entertained with MOHAA. Through practice and patience I have learned a bit on how to mod my bullet spread and the recoil animations of weapons--resulting in more accurate weapons(mostly through advice in tutorials & forums as well as experimenting). Im now somewhat familliar with MOHAA file types such as PK3's, TIK's, shader's, ect. as well as using programs like pacscape, winzip, ect. to view or open the files.
I am trying to achieve the same ability to mod the weapon accuracy in BF-1942. Through my searching I havent found any tutorials for BF weapons, although I have read many forums related to BF-1942....however I am at a loss to understand the "file structure" of this game as well as what files or types are related to certain aspects of the game, for example I mod the bullet spread in MOHAA with my TIK files...I've even thought of looking at a "realism mod" as a model to learn from, but have not found one of thoes either?!?!
I would be thankful for any advise you may have for me on this subject and dont mean to undermine your ability or intelligence, Im in need of a starting point and hope you could provide that.
Thanks:)
BTW-Toadvision is great!

KMA you will need a RFA Extractor and a RFA maker to mess with the file structures in this game. They can be found at BF1942files.com.
There are discussions here in this forum section on how to mess with the structures and patch the game. I think John Tesla did a little blerp on it somewhere here. Another source of learning is http://forum.unknowncheets.com/ (spell cheets with an a to make that link work, this forum has banned the word c h e a t) - there I have written full blown guides on how to edit this game.
Also what you can do to the weapon characteristics is somewhat limited, and messing with the accuracy IS impossible in online game play as the server controls and mandates these settings. PPl will always claim that they have just built a L33t trainer that messes with ammo or accuracy but they are FOS. Hell you can even try these hacks out and ingame it will appear that they work, but they don't (kinda complicated but yull have to take my word on it).
But if you are clever you can do alot of neat things, like add a sonar ability to your infantry person or make your pistol have sniper zoom. Just have to put your thinking cap on :)

I was just curious what kind of "higher level" hacks you have produced and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction.

Sorry to bump this thread but I need toadpeon's help.
I have never ever been into my EA GAMES/BF1942 Folder so bare with me. I just barely downloaded your "sonar hack" and I have it installed, but in your readme it states
Installation:
Step1: Go to your normal BF1942 mod folder. C: Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefied 1942/Mods/
Paste the Sonar_Hack folder there.
Step2: Open this init.com: C: Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 1942/Mods/Bf1942/init.con. Paste
this line in there: game.addModPath Mods/Sonar_Hack/
Close init.con and save changes.
Step3: Same as step2 in XPACK init.
Step4: Close all windows and commence playing.
First off it says "Battlefield1942/Mods/ Do I make a "Mod" folder for this? Because when I look for it I do not see one that is made for me. So I made a new folder called it mods and copy pasted the "Sonar_Hack" part into it. When opening Sonar_Hack these are the files that I see.
Sonar_Hack\Archives>>>>>menu.rfa, object.rfa, and BF1942 Sonar_Hack\Archives\BF1942>>>game.rfa.
Are those all right?
Second part is the most confusing to me. It says "Open this init.com"
So I open
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\Sonar_Hack\Archives\BF1942\init.com?
However when I do that I get "cannot find server".
So do I make a new folder inside my new mod folder called BF1942? Even after doing that I still get cannot find server.
Paste
this line in there: game.addModPath Mods/Sonar_Hack/
Close init.con and save changes.
Where exactly do I paste that? Am I supposed to have a screen up that I cant see?
And step 3 is just as confusing... what is Xpack init? If you could help me out here I would be very appreciative and I am sure I am not the ONLY one who got confused by the README. Thanks

This is not my hack/instructions, this is created by max_power. I am not 100% sure it works, but I am 100% sure it does not work with other mods installed (such as merc).
If you want the same sonar hack download toadvision131.
In this the installation is semi automated.

Isnt toadvision change alot more than just sonar? I really dont want my enemies to look like cartoons. I just kinda want no fog and sonar. I am Dling Toadvision right now though. And btw the unknowncheets site forum isnt up for some reason

Also could you tell me exactly what "init.con" is. I cant install my Merciless because it says something about init.con

init.con is just the file that tells the game what to load. You can install merciless, it wants you to edit the init.con to load it. If you follow the readme of the orignal toadvision, delete everything in the init.con and copy from that readme into the init.con.
