View Full Version : Question: Are hacks detectable?

One of my higher level accounts got banned recently.

I'm just wondering if some hacks are detectable or if they're not.
My friend told me that a GM can't tell if a person is hacking unless they personally witness it.

I was really careful with that character so I don't think anyone reported him, meaning a GM would have no reason to visit him.

So, the question is, are some hacks detectable without being witnessed by GMs?

I'm thinking speed attack might be, because it messes with the flow of packets, and if the flow is irregular it might raise suspicious behavior?

gm's just quickly scan the screen and they are invisible so when someone reports you it just makes them look at you more..

Gm invisible thing I heard is a rumor...

And im not sure about the hacks being detectable because everytime i got a char banned a gm would come searching for me

GMs have a "hide" techinique, so I know they can be invisible

(proof of this is from the data.wz database found at saunna.gibbed.us)

I'd really like to know if they can tell because I'm pretty sure no one reported me.

From what I do hear GMs do have "invisible" mode, and the rumor says that they won't even show up in the mini-map as a red-dot. However their "entrance" to a map will screw up your vac ... so that is one indication.

As far as whether or not they can detect a hack ... I'm quite sure they can't otherwise my character would be banned long time ago ... cause I accidentally went to a GM event twice with a full god mode and speed atk (max speed on a spearman nonetheless).

But then again ... I believe one of the reason why most people who are banned are high lvl chars is that when you're up top then it would be very suspicious if you can still gain lvl in just short amount of time ... and I believe there are several GMs monitoring the high ranking players from time to time.

Anyway these are just my opinion from experience.

You'd think they'd be able to monitor the server somehow for irregular packet flow

-sigh- if you want to know if a gm is in your map, press Alt+F12, and a little black box appears in the top right corner of your screen, once all the numbers turn to 9's, theres a GM in your map, and u should turn off your hacks

Jayce, I've read that in several places but I've also read that was just some rumor someone started.

I have yet to see proof of either side.

that invisible gm thing is true, because a gm came into my channel wen i was vaccing and he got hit by one of the vacced monsters then killed every monster one the screen. wen he got hit he turned visible. and i also had alt-f12 on and the numbers didnt have any 9's in it.

So we have some evidence that the alt+f12 thing doesn't work, but no proof

So, does no one have any idea about speed attack raising suspicion or does anyone have proof about the alt+f12 thing?
