MPC Downtime

Dear Users,

MPC was down for 2 days, from Sunday night (around 20.00 GTM ) to Tuesday ( 13.00 GTM ).
Reason was another DDoS attack against our server, which forced the hosting company to deactivate our server. Unfortunately yesterday was not a working day for Germany, that's why server came online today instead of yesterday.

Someone so much as looks at the server wrong, and I will IP ban them on the spot... The following IPs are banned forever:

24.192.2.3, 24.192.34.34, 24.192.125.143, 24.192.181.44, 60.52.42.253, 67.149.96.101, 68.190.235.249, 69.14.19.148, 69.14.26.116, 69.14.133.160, 69.14.186.106, 69.14.195.77, 69.14.222.181, 71.80.157.215, 72.165.64.5, 193.77.248.13

Awesome, great! I've been spending my time over at AgeRage waiting and waiting until the day would came that MPC would come back to life. I think I might continue to spend some of my time at AgeRage, it's a nice community, lots of recognizable members...

I said I think we're still getting DDoS'ed (not a very good DDoS, because the site is still up) because the site is so slow. But it seems that once you loaded a page and just keep loading pages everything goes smooth. But if you stop loading pages for a moment, it will take a long time again for a page to load.

Lets hope things will improve by themselve over time. :)

But it seems that once you loaded a page and just keep loading pages everything goes smooth. But if you stop loading pages for a moment, it will take a long time again for a page to load.

let me clear a few things up, we had a DDoS over the weekend, server was taken off the internet by the hosting company since it was a pretty hard DDoS and was affecting their network performance. It was brought back online on monday but was soon port flooded, hebe blocked most of the addresses that were port flooding us but since most of the addresses turned out to be dynamic the flooding resumed soon afterwards.

Right now I blocked another batch of addresses that were port flooding the server, this should take care of things for a while but I will look into either finding some sort of autmated script to do this in the future (UC has a similar script running I think from what I heard from shoot so maybe I can borrow that) or write a simple script to automate these things myself.

Either way we're working on solving this problem for the future as permanantly as possible ;)

Usually there are more than 1 flooders and if we would block all those ISP's, we will no doubt lose a lot of visitors. ;)

Thanks for the information Luck! I was really wondering exactly what was going on, one minute everything was fine, then the site was down for 2 days, came back up and went back down again. Everything seems alright as of now, I really hope that you can possibly figure out away to prevent this in the future. I know you have already taken many precautions, so I really don't know what you can do... But I'm just trying to think positively.

Well, it appears myg0t is dead. When we were discussing possible causes of downtime last week, myg0t was inactive. It's still down ffs!! Whoever is DDoSing, really has it in for these cheat sites. They're like a group of serial DDosers, this shit's getting out of control. I'm glad MPC could recover from this though, too bad Myg0t's ****ed :speechless:

Great job for our administrative team, because it sounds like a hell of a headache.

This time i'll be able to track down the DDoS i'll try to put a worm that can slowly........

there system database has a formerly Genitech G-support system and its hard to put a worm they can easily detect the worm but.... =) they can't track GXI virus a self extracting multiple worm that slowly craps them out..........

Actually, I was at work at that time, but when I got home and opened up mIRC, I saw a least ten people talking about it. I guess when you went to "www.mpcforums.com" it redirected to "www.*****.net". Now I don't know if that means that we were attacked by ***** or if someone is only trying to frame them...
