Changing descriptions for the subforums

Hello everyone out there :)

We just got about 40 subforums right now like CS subforums, Quake Subforum, TFC, MOHAA, you_name_it_we_add_it...

All of them have a kinda boring description right now... Like

Tactical Ops: AOT
Talk about Tactical Ops and TO AOT-related stuff here.

MOHAA
Talk about Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault here!

etc... as u can see, it's all the same, just the name of the game is changed...

What are we gonna to do is update those descriptions for each subforum. Example:

IRC Forum:
Scripts,IRC Clients, Rizenet and more

As u can see this description is more "userfriendly" and give you a picture of what this forum is all about even if you don't know what IRC is at all...

Why I'm posting it here and not just changing all of the descriptions to something I like? That's because I think our users know some of the subforums much better then I do and they know every small detail of it and thus description made by them will be much better.

The only problem is : description may not be longer then 1 line (like now).


So... think and contribute to the best forum out there that is aiming to be even better with help of its users! Users help users :)

You should pick a theme for all the descriptions in general. Do you want them to be in familiar terms like your talking to someone using words like owned and noobs and 1337 and being funny some times? Or do you want it to be slick and professional with big words like a corporate website?

Some of those are pretty good grumpy but design...I want personally to see this section get more activity besides avatar and signatures. Those are fine, but design in general is a broad spectrum of things, and that point needs to get across to people.

"Sigs" sounds unprofessional, and you dont want design to be the official dumping ground for people showing of their signatures they can't really use on here anyway, except through a link (which some of us never click).



as for other fps Thought about this one, it's usually the New games that arent popular yet or heavily hacked up or in Demo format or are just old games so you might want to go the route of something like -

Dark clouds summerization of my design was good though just change the last word.

any you dont want to say specific programs especially maya which is good but the industry standard is max. Actually its changing to various brand name 3d scanners then generated in max or maya although i would only use maya for animation, and only if i were doing things bigger then games. Maya is so user friendly ...its like max for dummies. I think the tools great for animation but you can do everything you can do in maya in max.

actually i use MS paint for a lot of basic procedures that seem so damn complicated in other more advanced programs like Photoshop and stuff. It truly isn't such a bad program if u know how to use it and what its limit's are.

well basically the best program is Notepad... you can do anything in that and if you know the right code then you can even make .jpg pictures or 3d pictures.... although something that might take 5 mins in photoshop will take about 2 days in Notepad..... but heh at least the possibility is there ;)

Base Camp is a term for a camp at the bottom or mid portion of a mountain you are going to climb. Has nothing to do with the army. ;)

Either way, it is still a climbing term, not a military term. I am sure some military people use it, but it is not its primary use...... Not worth arguing over.....
