My CS is FUC*ED up! Can you help?

Ok heres the problem. All my binds for cs are messed up. For example, when I am in a game, the ESC button acts as the H button. The tab button doesnt do anything. Also, the 1,2,3,4,5, etc. buttons dont work. Instead, in order to change weapons I have to press the "\" button. Why the hell are all my binds messed up? I checked the config.cfg file and all the binds are correct. What is going on and how can i fix it? I tried reinstalling cstrike numerous times and it still stays the same. Please help.

windowsdude what the hell are you talking about no admin command can do that... I have no Idea what is wrong ingame when your keys are screwed up open console and type in
exec config.cfg
that should fix it

umm... exec config.cfg wont do nothin.. once u exit cs ... it saves all set binds =/ ..so in his config.cfg it will be set to the way it is now... and yes admin cmds can do that... it'd be long and tedious..but it can be done ... ie: admin_execlient <namehere> "bind esc +commandmenu" =/ ..he'd have to do it for all of em ..dunno y what happend to him did .. ubt w/e ... i doubt it was admin.. was just makin a joke..admins ****in do that admin_execlient windowsdude "unbindall" all the time..pisses me off royally.. =/]

sno..i though an admin could change your config if you were ahcking or something...and unbind all of your keys...cant they run the unbind all command on you....somethings happened to me before when i was playing and all the sudden everything stopped working...everything was unbound

ya ... unbindall is the devil! ..not only cuz u have to go reset all ur keys.. but cuz u have to end hl process and deal with that crap =/ ... and u loose all ur say binds and crap that u had bound ... GRR ... unbindall is truely the devil

ok tried exec config.cfg
It didn't do anything. Also tried reseting defaults, that didn't do anything either. This happens both when I am playing with or without cheats.

hmm... i'd say .. back up files which u have custom stuff in .. such as..custom maps... skins..sounds..misc sounds... then reinstall cs .. and add ur custom things u backed up =) .. if u were smart enough to save ur installer...this shouldnt a prob =/ ...however if u didnt...ull prob spend an hour or so d/lin =x

I read that.... I know its not your keyboard... No admin could have that effect.... hrm... ok heres the deal... First uninstall Half-life Then delete c:/sierra/half-life folder all of it
then reinstall everything if you have CS retail then delete c:/sierra/counter-strike then reinstall that may fix it. If not then I am sorry but you are screwed

Hey Sno I already tried that. Not only did I delete the counter-strike folder but I deleted all the registry entries of Valve and Sierra. I guess I am screwed and the only thing for me now is to reformatt my whole hd. Windowsdude, this didn't happen all of a sudden when I was using a hack. It was messed up right after I installed CS.

very very strange.

The admin can do that to the player though because certain servers have admin mods on which gives the admin the ability to use the command, "clientexec". It is through this that the admin is able to force you to have your entire keys rebinded to something that you don't want. "clientexec <wonid or player number> unbind all" will do just that.

I have seen this happen and as well as I have done it quite a few times. It is not something you would like to force an admin to do to you. I'm familiar with the admin mods commands and this is true.

Do you keep going to the same server over and over again?

Go into your configuration screen where you bind all the keys and hit default.
Exit the game.
Go to the HL\CS directory.
Press your right mouse button on Config.cfg.
Hit properties.
Check "Read Only".

That should stop the pesky admins from screwing you over. Another thing is that might earn you ban from that server. Or you could cvar block the commands. but that will also earn you a ban in some of the servers too.

That should work but the way he said it, It was not possible but it is ture if you keep on going onto the server with admins inside and admins that know you
