View Full Version : Hardware ID Encryption

I came across a game that uses Hardware Bans but they appear to be based off the SMART Serial according to my experiments using hwspoof. I kept all the other information the same, but changed my SMART Serial. Here's what I got.

SMART Serial: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabb, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbb, aaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbb

ID: DFM85T6FGKUNQKPR7E54H

SMART Serial: aaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbb

ID: S6VN872CCHR7BKEHII5BG

SMART Serial: bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

ID: 7O4MHG5I71212WOJQT6RH

SMART Serial: ccccccccccccccccccccc

ID: R4TN22N3GG2DLQJC8227D

The ID's are 21 digits long, and each of them appears to be 5 bit, using numbers 1-9 and letters A-W. 21*5 = 105 bit.
The last 4 digits of the 18 digit serials appear to be ignored, meaning that only 14 digits are used.

I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with this kind of algorithm to get hardware IDs or if you can point me in the direction of another tool that may help me figure this out. I can always test more IDs if that is needed also.

Haha, a simple change in your BIOS would spoof your HW ban!
Wonderful!

However, I have plans of being able to change my HW number to whatever I please. I am not banned, but I want certain things that only a few members have.

SMART Serial: 000000000000000000
ID: LJWOM2JTHA7C46DRH6KLR

SMART Serial: 100000000000000000
ID: 77R4LVRR3RVF464RKLCEN

How can changing 1 number make such a huge difference?

Because the whole "hash" is encrypted?!

I don't get that. Can you explain that?

Hahaha the basic concept of hashing is, that a certain string has a certain hash, and that hash is designed to make no sense to a human. Once you make a slight change to the original string, the hash will be entirely different, which makes no sense. But that's what makes hashes so secure :)

does that mean if i change my smart serial i can spoof my comp from hw ban?

would this work for AA?

would this work for AA?

I do not think so.

I think what Randanon is saying you need to change your hash in BIOS for one thing. But PB checks other hardware also, which you can maybe spoof. And the combination of these will remove the ban.

If is safe making a change in the BIOS?
