16GB in a USB Flash Drive

Toshiba is planning to release a new flash drive which will have a total of 16GB of memory. It is a bit bigger than regular USB dongles but with 16GB I can hardly say I would care, I mean think of how much *stuff* you could carry on it.

The Flash Drive will be released as a limited edition and will most likely cost a pretty penny or two but it’s still pretty cool to think about how far things have gone, I mean I remember my first USB dongle was only like 16MB and I was thinking to myself, “wow, I can carry the same amount of data on this thing as on 12 floppies, this is awesome for transferring data”.

The drive will also support U3 technology, which enables users to carry around data, applications and personal settings, that means you’ll never be stuck at a computer without having your favourite applications ready to use.

Wow.. thats pretty big. My current one is only 512MB. I have two 256MB ones too though. I do need a bigger one I think :)

16GB, that's awesome. Right now I have two 2GB USB drives, and one 512MB USB drive. Also I have a 5GB MP3 player, as well as a 1GB MP3 Player... All my portable drives together are still smaller than 16GB.
