writing in japanese

my friend told me that there is a way so u can write in japanese on ur american keyboard how do u do so?

lol yeah, but u need to speak japanese, like if you type pet, it wont mean shit but if u type petto then tahat is pet in japanese so u bacislly need to know how to speek japanese, or atleast type it

when you installed japanese on your computer, that little thing in the corner of your screen appeared (it says EN) and its in a box... if you mess with that (change it to japanese) you "could" type in japanese using a 100% english keyboard. although... i dont use it 'cuz simply its hard as hell to understand what to choose, and also i have 0% knowledge of japanese in general.. but if you wanted to mess with that, go ahead lol

Default is Alt + Shift then Alt + Tilde.

Then type. But you need to know kantaka and something else I don't remember the name of. - Hirigana I think.

Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji are the 3 types of japanese letters/words.

Hold ALT and push SHIFT, then release ALT then start holding it again, then while holding ALT, push the key thats left of the number 1.
