This game comes with a unique CD key that you have to type in before you can install the game.... Can anyone use the key or is it just for one user????

no, DesertCombat is set for release on the 5th. people subscribed to FilePlanet ($6.95) are able to already download it.

i downloaded it from FP already and the serial needed for this private version is unique, but if you dont have an account, head on over to #desertcombat on EFNet and they have the cracked version with no serial :)

Wreck I heard only the file planet version has the cd key and that only to track who gives their copy out for download to any one else. That way if another site offers a download of it before April 5th file planet will know if it's there version and whose account downloaded it. They will cansel the users account and threaten suit againt the site thats allowing the download. Sounds like a big fat chunk of BS but you never know.

Ahhh the famouse File Planet EZ Pad Key
I was wondering how you guys were preventing the spread of the File Planet release... forgot about File Planet's EZ Pad Key system.. can't run FP DC preview without proper key.. very very smart..

already pleanty of mirrors up, they just compress the DC file once its installed and put up a .rar file for you to download.

the thing that worries me is the file size, the official file size is 146.4, but your link has it at 128 meg, are you sure this is the correct version, or the older one?

Wreck the work around for that is to just .RAR the desert combat folder, then bring it into the other comp, unRAR and your good to go.

no, just paste the DesertCombat folder in your Mods directory and then copy the shortcut to bf1942 and put +game DesertCombat at the end of the target so it looks like this: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +game DesertCombat
