Can I download CS from their official website and use my CD-key?

This is 1 question,I bought CS (mod version) but I have lost it but can I just download the CS-retail version and use my modified (the version which run with half-life) CD-key??

no I lost my mod version (the one with half-life) but can I just download the retail version which is around 116 MB or do I need something which is in the retail CD and not on the web?

why would it be warez if I just download CS Retail (from their official website) and then use my CD-Key which I BUYED?

But my question is,can I use my CD-key which I got when buying Halflife to use with the retail version of CS from their official website,
I just reinstalled my computer for some days ago and I lost my Half-life game but I had written down my CD-key so I still got it.

The CS version on there site , itsn't that the mod version not the retail, i think you need to have Half-life actually installed for that :( . i don't think this is warez as he has not actually mentioned any illegal activity or even promoted such accusations towards it ( i'm lost for words :( thus hte lack of sense )

OK,I admit I am a little bit dumb but here is my question AGAIN in some easy steps:

1: I have my CD-Key which I got when buying CS mod
2: I reinstalled my computer so now I doesn´t have Halflife left and I have lost it somewhere
3: Can I then just download CS Retail from Valves official website and use my CD-key to make it work???

No as it needs engine components from Half-life , you need to install Half-life or go and buy counter strike retail. the one you probably see on websites Is a Mod , thus you need to have HL installed

Ok,here is the CS-retail I was talking about:

thats the retail update to 1.5 , u still need the counter-strike retail ENGINE to run it :/
u have to buy it i'm afraid unless u have a friend who has the disc u could borrow

crack_man I have read both the posts you have made and the posts made by the users that participated here.

You say that you have "bought" Counter-Strike Mod Edition, however Mod Edition is the Modification edition which is downloadable. Apparently, you are mistaken and have probably bought Counter-Strike Retail or Half-Life Retail with Counter-Strike in it.

Now correct me if I am wrong. You have lost your Counter-Strike files and you wish to re-get them. Why don't you re-install Half-Life and after which retrieve Counter-Strike from the Internet?

Since you seem to have Half-Life Retail, what you will need to play Counter-Strike with Half-Life is Counter-Strike 1.5 Full Mod Edition. This Download can be located through here --> http://www.counter-strike.net/mod_full.html

By downloading and installing that File, you will be able to Play Counter-Strike through your own Half-Life Retail, using your Half-Life legitimate CD Key.

Dark Blaze--->No I HAD the mod which had half-life and lost it so I will problably buy it again cuz my friends doesnt even play CS,they play battlefield which is no good acompared with CS.
