What does "timeout" mean?

Sometimes when I play cs,then I get kicked out of the game and it´s saying something like timeout or such.
What does that mean and how do I get ride of it?

It usually is when your connection lags so badly that it forces you to disconnect from the server. Some admins set their server up so that if you hit a certain ping, you're timed out and d/c'ed.

Ok,thats why I get this error when Im using kazaa then.

But has this something to fo with speedhacks?
If I use a speedhack,should I set the timeout very high?

Oh, well, I would strong suggest against Speed Hacks.

The timeout delay for speed hacks are a matter of preference sometimes performance. I would say set it to a moderate rate cause you don't really want to keep it running so very much. That and its hazardous for your computer.

Im confused now.

1: If I have speedhack,what timeout should I have then?
2: If I don´t use speedhack,what would I set the timeout to?

If you don't use a speedhack, then you shouldn't worry about the timeout delay setting.

But if you are using it, set the delay to like 500. That should help.

cl_timeout 99999999999 if using speedhack, same thing if your not anyway... if u use speedhack stay below 2x and using no more than 4 seconds and about 5-6 second rests

Speedhack can often lag your connection worse than anything else, so set it at least 5x as high if you use one....... If you use it only at 1.1x-2x speed you shouldn't be too bad, just set to twice normal. Any server with wwcl autmatically sets it to 35, so avoide those sucky servers.

Ok now I am real confused,should I set my timeout to 99999999999 if I use speedhack and the same number if I doesn´t?

DarkCloud said mr to set it ad default if I didn´t use it and 500 if I use speedhack.

Set it to 9999999999999999 always....... There is no good reason not to.....
