As of now, there have been some reports of people who cannot access MPC. I believe this is probably caused by trouble with the nameservers (since there are still many other people online). It should fix itself in, at most, a few days. This problem has occurred in the past, and we have no reason to believe that it will continue past that time.

Yeah, I thought it was related to my friend's 56k timing out or something. But even on my DSL I get the database error. Looks as though I can surf the site as long as I only open one page at a time, no tabbed browsing... :(

if you log in during the off time when there aren't 900 MS members begging for and leaching hacks on the MS forum then you'll be fine with no DB errors.
Everytime MS releases a new patch this happens, it usually lasts for 3-4 days then dies down again until MS releases another new patch.

That's caused by the MS people, not by DNS problems. You know you are getting DNS issues if you cannot even resolve the server's IP.

Well, I haven't had the error in a few days, looks like Hebe was right and the problem solved itself. :D
