OK for the users that have it...help please.

I just got it from a friend ( not downloaded ) and I made my account and upgraded all the patches and stuff. Now I clicked on games and then counter strike. It says
"Updating Counter-Strike"

And then under that "Ready to play in approximatly xx:xx minutes"

What the hell does this mean? Am I going to play 1.6 or just normal CS? Why is it taking 45-50 minutes?

Ok scratch that thought, i just joined a server but as soon as i join it says "Parsing Server" and then "Checking Game Something" and it freezes...whats wrong?

Steam does not use your original copy of Half-Life. When you first play a game on Steam, I believe that Steam downloads the entire game into its cache. This is why it takes so long to enter a game the first time you play; Steam is downloading Counter-Strike.
