Its a new engine called the 'SAGE' engine.. dont know if theres an sdk out for it or anything..
As to general modding ..... lot of stuff in the ini. and .big files theres a comprehensive guide to the files at www.cncden.com..

We sopke about the rendering engine which is supported by the graphics card. GTA3 has the NOLF engine but it runs over Direct3D if im not wrong. So Direct3D/X is right...

It's nice with direct 3d/X
but most games aren't build in that way right?

I think so too. Perhaps GL gives u more features for effects in the game. eg. the wxplosion effects are in most d3d games only sprites which turn around with the camera. U can say those are "1-sided graphics".

can you put in the command line to make it run in opengl like you could in war3 if so what was that line again?

o and direct 3d or open gl arent game engines they run the game engines if the "game engine requires them to":bunny:
