CPL released the anti-cheat client recently, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this? What does it do exactly? It's like a secondary program that you need to run in the background of your game.

Does anyone have any facts about this client? I'm just worried about it taking screenshots because all I use are custom skins in scrims.

The CAL pages have a link to download the anti-cheat client because I still going through some testing. I don't wanna give out the link because I'm not sure if it's allowed.

It's worthless.

It does some rather trivial GDI calls to generate a screenshot then compresses it and sends it over an SSL connection to a remote server for inspection by admins at a later date, along with a simple listing of the modules loaded into hl.exe.

Very easy to patch.

Im not 100% but it checks your background task for the injection of the program...does not take screenshots. Its mandatory for 1.6 players.

As for those custom skins they must be removed to play CAL/CPL other than that dont be concerned.
