There are a profusion of guides that will teach you how to cheat covertly in CS:S. Ihateacid has created one. So has some other guy with a slightly less memorable monachre. I have read both and agree that they would be very useful for beginning cheaters. But i'm thinking a little bigger than that, and since i missed my ride to church on account of daylight savings time, i have decided to create my own cheating guide. (Irony, i am aware)
How to not get caught by VAC
Server admins may ban you from a single server, but VAC will shut you down, so it should always be your number one priority when it comes to not getting caught. I read the forums and am often surprised at how many people get banned by VAC simply because they log in and download the first random hook they can find. No good. Even if you have a profusion of alternate accounts procured by some dubious and unmentionable means, it's still a good idea to play it safe, because if you end up getting banned and having to use one of the new 8-digit steamIDs you will AUTOMATICALLY appear more suspicious just about every where you go.
For example, i am an AC admin on a CS:S server, and if i am watching someone who i think is suspicious, the very first thing i will do is type "status" in console and see what kind of steamID he has. I am naturally going to be more suspicious of 0_0:14925982 than i am of 0_0:20005. So hold on to old accounts if you have them, and only ever use legal cheats on them.
The best way to avoid being VAC banned is to use legal cheats. Of everything out right now, FS Wallhack is the one you want to use. It's been around a long time without getting patched or fixed by VALVE, and it will never get you VAC banned. simple as that. Don't use memory edits that bypass consistency and sv_cheats 1, they are absolute VAC magnets and will all get caught eventually.
If you need something "stronger", then go get Hl2hook. No other multihacks need be sampled. This is the one. VAC undetected still after many many many releases and updates. It will 100% eventually get detected anyways, but how long down the road? Anyone remember in 1.6 when metacheat went undetected for 16 months? That's the kind of lifespan you want for your steamIDs.
Reading is your friend. Read the forums, see what people have to say. Before trying a cheat, find out who released it. Do they have any previous releases? Are they a reliable and respected member of the cheating community? Don't download the hook from "Bob" with one post. That's a waste of a steamID. (Either Bob is gonna get it, of VAC is, either way it's no good)
If for whatever reason you want to try something other than the safe cheats that you know are reliable, always use a process name changer, and be prepared for the inevitability of getting caught eventually.
How to not get caught by server admins
Avoiding getting caught by server admins is a matter of psychological manipulation. You need to slip into the role of a "really good player" so as to not appear suspcious. What do the best players you've ever seen play act like? how do they talk in the server? what kind of names do they use? Copy and mimic the strongest players you see playing.
Bot.smooth 10? Absolutely not. Bot.smooth 5? I can aim faster than that myself. You aren't trying to look like "Joe Schmoe", you're not planning on "doing worse" to look legit are you? Play like a pro. Bot.smooth 1,2,3 is more than good enough. As long as your crosshair isn't moving instantaneously, you will just look very "quick". Don't use a head vector. You want to aim at the neck or upper chest. Bot.fov 10 or less, and if you're using HL2Hook, then you will want to set a minimum distance for your aimbot. Using aimbot on a target within 10 meters of you WILL look obvious every time.
Learn how to bunnyhop. Don't use a script. Learn to do it for real if you can. This makes you instantly look "pro" and people will start giving you the benefit of the doubt. Sow the seeds of doubt. If you wall a guy in the face and he calls hacks, say something like "saw your shadow little buddy". deny everything, but don't be defensive. be very friendly and helpful. offer to give advice to people who accuse you. Explain to them that "they'll never get better if they just accuse people who are better than them of cheating".
At all costs you want to avoid having a really good shot sometimes, and a terrible shot the rest of the time. people will piece that together after a while. Use a few different aimbot settings and toggle between them. You want to keep looking good. Only use the aimbot if you are 100% confident it will "look ok" in the situation. If there is any doubt (2 enemies close together, and your aimbot might target the wrong one, or god help you, both of them) then use your regular fire.
To avoid preaiming or aiming through walls, always keep your crosshair on the forward edge of any wall. For example, always be aimed at the very forward edge of a corner when you come around it. Smooth crosshair movement and positioning makes you look patient, deliberate, and legit. Don't EVER pull a "360 turn" to look through walls for enemies. On my server we call that the "sonar" maneuver and it looks really obvious. also avoid loooking through corners or through walls when you're waiting in ambush for an enemy, that looks goofy as hell.
No-recoil and no-spread are a waste of time. They will both look obvious to an experienced AC admin on any setting, and they will mess you up if you have any skill at the game and know how to compensate for recoil manually.
Same goes with flashes and smokes. Nothing looks worse than a 2 shot burst through thick smoke for the kill. It's fairly easy to know when you're supposed to be flashed, but it can be hard to tell where smoke screens are supposed to be.
If you see another cheater on the server, don't say anything. If there are admins on, send them an "admin only" message syaing you think the other guy is cheating. This will get you in the admins good graces and free your hand a little. If another cheater is on and cheating quite blatantly, DO NOT step it up to compete with him. That is asking for trouble. Join in with the rest of the server in condemning him, but don't try to "out aim" him, or you too will end up looking obvious.
AWP is a good weapon to use with an aimbot because it's harder to catch than with a rifle. People who aimbot with an M4 or an ak will tend to "only fire what they need to get the kill" and that means you will end up killing someone with one or two bullets fired. woops. that looks obvious. If you didn't have an aimbot, you woulda kept firing till he was dead. AWP you won't have that problem cuz you fire one at a time anyways.
And of course, the pinnacle acheivment of any hacker: If you can play your hand right, you may end up with admin or immunity on your favorite server, and then the sky is the limit to what you could do.
How to not get caught in CAL
League cheating is a sensitive topic for some people, and it seems to be viewed negatively even by members of the cheating community itself. No matter, you're not them, and you xan do whatever the hell you want. And if you want to cheat in CAL, here's how to do it.
Now, if you're on a team full of cheaters, and everyone knows everyone cheats, then the solution is quite simple. Have 2 guys with wallhacks (the spotters) tell the other guys where people are, and the other guys will nade them or flash them and run in and blow them away. Then at the end of the match, the people who are legit get disputed, and the spotters get away scot free because they let the other guys do the serious killing. Works every time, and there are supposedly "good" teams as high up as CAL-M in CS:S that operate in exactly this way.
But you're not one of them, and more likely than not if you're going to be cheating, you will probably be on a team that has no idea that you plan on getting them moved down and suspended. And they will hate you if you do, so you'd better not get caught. First off, here is the stuff that will show up in demos and will get you banned by CAL:
Stuff CAL-AC can catch in demos:
1. Any kind of auto-fire
-This includes triggerbots, autoshoot, bot.shoot 1, any aimbot that fires as soon as it is aimed. (unless you have your aimbot key bound to +attack in in-game console)Reason why? Injection cheats like HL2hook inject the +attack commands directly into the game without going through the client, so in the demo you will fire, but no +Attack command will show up in console. CAL-AC admins look for this, and it will get you banned instantly.
2. Bunnyhop scripts
-Same thing as the triggerbot, CAL-AC can tell by stripping the demo and looking at the console that you just hold down spacebar and it bunnyhops for you, because instead of a bunch of +jump -jump commands there will just be one +jump command, followed by a -jump command when you finally let go of the spacebar and stop hopping.
3. Alternate key binds for aimbot
-So you have +attack bound to mouse1 and mouse2, but mouse2 also aims at their head. this way the +attack command still shows up in console, but they can TELL by stripping the demo that you are using mouse2 for certain shots and mouse1 for others. So now they just go "gee, let's look at every shot done with a "+attack242" instead of a "+attack241" and when they all hit the same hitbox they'll know.
oK, THERE you go.
But it doesn't matter. why you may ask? Because: .dem files have no hash check, so you can just edit them. Go download Hex Workshop, open the .dem files and replace everything incriminating with something innocuous. It's that easy, and there's no way for an AC admin to know you've done it. ta da!
also, works great for using materials exploits that require a graphics CVAR change after ss round to bypass zblock. just go into the .dem file, find the graphics CVAR changes in the demofile and change them to a console echo.
for extra credit you could change "cl_min_ct 2; cl_min_t 2" into "echo hey AC; echo bye!!" that way you leave them a message that pops up as they're watching the demo! good fun.
To avoid getting caught cheating in CAL all you have to do is follow the three Ds:
Don't aimbot
Don't aim through walls
Don't turn in your demos O.O
Cheating in leagues is lame and will get you caught and publicly humiliated. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.
