I'm trying to get rid of the default cross hair while scoped. I tried a few ones but they are simply on top of the default one. I want to remove it so I can have a completely transparent center with whatever scope I want to use. Is this even possible? If so, how?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but since its not an effect i think its a material. Most people would find there materials in a folder placed in your stream folder (With your name on it) have alot around there.

Uhm.. scope_arc.vtf but if I remember correctly you will have to bypass the consistency check in order to use it.

How would I go about bypassing the consistency?
How would I go about bypassing the consistency?
And why the hell would valve make it that important to have your scope the same?

Because of the advantage you get by using a clear scope.
To bypass the consistency check you could use something like coconuT (once it's updated) or any multihack that includes that feature.

I suppose, at the very least the bastards could have included several different scopes.
I don't plan on using anything that will hook into my game so I guess I'm SOLs. Is there anyway to merely "fool" the game? I could whip up a little app that can do it if it's necessary too frequently. Not going to start editing memory though.

I don't even get what you are trying to do here mate and what good will it really do to you?

The cross hair interferes with my color bot, works great with any weapon besides scoped.

Well I still don't get it exactly, you see if you explain just alittle bit better I could probably tell you if it's possible to fix your problem or not... :) If you are using color bot I don't see a problem on what the original crosshair should interfere with even when zoomed?

The problem is just since there is the cross and it goes directly threw the center of the screen the bot reads this as black and not red or whatever color is behind it. It works the odd time but the program will only auto fire when the center is actually the color your shooting for. Having it at least 50+% black regardless of where your enemy is or not makes it very useless scoped. I just want to make it so there is nothing in the center of my screen instead of the x. The bot will then be able to read the center screen just fine. Thanks.

Well, as I said, you'll have to bypass the consistency check in order to use a modified scope.

i use the no scope materials and i only get the consistency error on only like 2 or 3 servers..its probally cuz of what servers they find for me 50ms tops near nj go figure

Ah, you're right, weezy69.
However, if you think about it, you still wouldn't be able to remove the actual cross by modifying scope_arc/scope_lens.

are any of those files Skelletor22 like a semi transparent scope?
can you even make the scope_arch file transparent to bypass consistency with out a hack?
thanks.

I hope so..
1. Extract the files that are used in that no scope thing, then open GCFScape and find all of those files (except background) and extract to desktop.
2. Open the two .vmts.
3. Under one of the "$blabla 1"'s, make a new line and put "$no_draw" 1
4. Do that to both vmts.
5. Extract to cstrike (or whatever) and hope it works..
