Q) Does this game have bots?
A) Yes it does, with the patch. You have to use -debug (see below) to access them however. The bots are listed below: Also note that in order to get bots from creatures that are not in the level, you must add a comment to the command line. -l and what type of bot you want. Alone is alien. a is alien. c is civilian. m is marine. p is Predator. r is Predalien. t is praetorian. x is Xenoborg. To put them all in add -lacmprtx to the command like as with -debug (see below). They have to be lower case
ALIENBOT - Creates an AI alien.
MARINEBOT - Creates an AI marine.
There are various ones you can set.
Default 0 is random. 1 is Pulse Rifle. 2 is Flame Thrower. 3 is Smart Gun. 4 is SADAR. 5 is Grenade Launcher. 6 is Minigun. 7 is civilian with a Shotgun. 8 is civilian with a Pistol. 9 is civilian with a Flame Thrower. 10 is an unarmed civilian. 11 is a civilian with a Molotov Coc.ktail. 12 is a Pistol. 13 is an android with a Shotgun. 14 is an android with a Shotgun, one handed. 15 is an android with a Pistol.
PREDOBOT - Creates an AI Predator. Default 0 is Claws. 1 is Cloaked Shoulder Cannon. The rest seem to be claws.
PREDALIENBOT - Creates an AI Predalien.
PRAETORIANBOT - Creates an AI praetorian.
XENOBORG - Creates an AI Xenoborg.
Its probably been tried already...

what's the patch they speak of?
The last one released or something else that lets you do add in computer controlled characters?
it sounds really simple to do, if the text after that is all that is needed.

I have no idea... I've been scouring the entire net looking for that program that was released on that one website...
[BTW: Is Overrun Maps single player only?]

does any of the allow any sort of multiplayer support of any bots?
Co-Op, does that allow for two people or more to hunt down aliens?

now dark cloud the code you typed out was only for avp and avp GE not avp2 game it self..
avp2 is totally different from the old avp and avp GE =)
I know this cause I have all the games bassically.
and I have made a simple aimbot dll file for the game and the file can be used on all fps games too or at least it seems to work with all fps games I used it on UT2003 already and it works good.
but I want to advance my program dll and make a dialog app box like chazz aimbot but not with the color targeting..
I do want to use the graphic effect crosshair though.
but Im not sure how chazz made is aimbot.
and yes i do have the avp2 source code and I have seen the code for smart gun and disc autotargeting code.
and i have tryed to use them in a dll file.
it did work but not like the regular smart gun autotargeting work.
so I made a simple code in opengl32.dll and it does work and targets the heads and you can use it with all weapons..
but it needs more tweaking with speed to target the faster running aliens like runner and facehuger.
and I have made a few action type mods for avp2 and primal hunt games.
I have a website on planetavp.com as well..
I made the EXP mods and avp2phpatch mod.
every thing thats on my site I made.
but right now the mods been disabled till I edit them cause I working on more things for them.
as updates.

i saw your other post on this and that's cool, but I need BOTS (like the ai, not aimbots) working in multiplayer. I have seen it done now on two Aliens Vs Predator 2 maps someone suggested to me, but I can't seem to get it working. I got the level all built (it just needs the textures which I will add last), I just need aliens working and controlled by the computer. I am trying to get them to spawn in endlessly and relentlessly. Any ideas let me know. I'm looking for stuff that actually works. I have the map sitting here, I want to test it with these bots.

well thats cool ai level bots is kinda easy dude.
its in the tools for making the maps.
and all your characters for ai is there too.
all you have to do is add in their code for what you want them to do.
like ai attack target spawned or deffend.
which deffend they attack only if you go near them or attack them first.
there is other codes to make them hunt as well.
so when the level starts they go nuts and attack you none stop..
go in to the maping tools and open up the source file
C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2\AVP2\avp2.Dep
this will show and give you all the ai bots and level textureing
then go to the model tab and then characters mp.
this will allow you to add all the ai characters you need and make them behave how you want them too.

Ok cool. Thanks for the reply. I know the tools pretty well, from mapping and I do have a few of my own models I built , kinda high poly for this game, but they work fine. I want to add my new alien model as the spawning AI that attacks the players.

sounds like halflife ??
definately not avp2 b/c it uses "d3d.ren"

maybe he's talking about primal hunt. I don't remember what modifications were done to the game with that bad expansion, because I took it off. Third Law is dead now. I see why.

I have a question for you.
can you send me your alien models so i can take a look at them.
and I was wondering if we could work together some time soon to make a new mod for avp2 and ph..
cause maybe we could make your new alien models playible in tha mod for the games..
to bring in anew look for mods for the games too.
if their realy good like you say they are the gamers would go nuts over them..
and who knows you just might be come more popular then [Alpha] InfamousAndy !!!
I love to see some one else become more popular then him in making mods.
cause I seen his mods and their not that good he only has a few nice ones but nothing to exciting..

i really dont give out my models but I can show you an alien headshot render in YM (since that's all I have done so far with him...body coming soon... but i stopped lately too - been working on other things non computer related). If I ever did any for a mod, I would want to make sure most of the mod is working first only because unlike 2k3 or quake 3 engine games, getting models working<--key word in AvP2 is a pain and it takes time, that I want to see well spent. Lith really made their mapping tools, primitive and the same thing goes for getting models in. It's not impossible at all, just took me longer then it did with others I mentioned. My private model for avp2, took forever. I'm not talking about the building phase, which takes some time because I do a bit higher poly models then the standard, but the weighing and posture and all that, skeletal issues with the model in the engine were not fun. I had to contantly tweak stuff. I ended up re-boning the whole model and doing custom animations which looked alot better in the end.
Ask Darkcloud about my models, like my 2k3 one and the maps with those I showed him... They are better then the stuff the game companies too(since I am shooting to do a animated short movie based on my art, using my models), but they are also non traditional.

you got some great talent there for modeling..
you could make a career out that and make some good money in the game programing companys..
have you sent a working models or ideas to any of the game programing companys?

I'm working on my own game. I can't go into details and there's a long line of people who deserve a ton of credit for sticking with me through the problems, and making the code work so I can "paint the canvas".

Definitely. I've seen her models for several games and they're definitely high poly models.
The idea of AVP2 coming out with a new mod... eehhhhh... can't see it. The engine ins't that great and the netcoding is horrible. UT2k3 is a much better engine.
