Hey guys iv had the same problem as everyone else, d/cing at the char screen. But so far every option i'v tried has failed and i think iv just about read every single post of every thread. I dont want to hack at the moment i just want to play legit! My main problem is that MS does what it usualy does at the char screen, BUT if i change the host file of delete it or infact change anything else at-all it tells me a ahcking attempt has been detected. I would really apreciate someone giving me an idea or explination for this, and i promise you have looked through just about every thread.
p.s i have no hacking tools on my comps and im not running any other programs/firewalls that may cause this.
p.p.s Thank you very much.

Try scaning your PC for any virus/spywares it may also cause that problems. Make sure your hosts files is reset to default. Check if any emulator tools is running on the background.

Thanks i'll have a check, my hosts file is to:
80.69.94.166 gameguard.mapleglobal.com
80.69.94.166 63.251.217.184
i'm pretty sure thats isnt the defult but all the other host files that people have posted also cause a hacking attempt to be detected.

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc right click on the hosts files go to properties uncheck read only Open it with notepad and replace it with :

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Save it

Make sure you change it back to read only after editting.

I had the same problem as you when i wanted to hack. I found that reinstalling Maplestory fixed the problem.

1. Go to Add/Remove Programs and delete Maplestory

2. Go to download MS, but SAVE the MSsetup on your desktop or whatever file you want.

3. If you have problems delete and reinstall

Thats how I worked it out

Don't run any hacking tools, debugger tools, Hex editor or anything related with hacking. It shown not have any problems. If you still get that error make sure your PC is restarted everything after you run those tools.
