Right. peoples in the cedega forums weren't very helpful, so i hope one of you will be.
The problem is as following: i can run cedega&steam without troubles. all steamgames start up, but for some odd reason cs source is always crashing on me, whether it is while connecting to a server, just being connected (can just see the motd, then crash) of making my own server (again both variants).

Does anyone have any idea where the problem lies?

thanks in advance,

If its regarding steam game you should ask at steam power forum? You can get answer faster there.

good idea, but i somehow have a feeling that cedega is causing it, and the steamforum isn't really crowded with linux users. (at least i think)

as far as I remember steam was a real bitch to run on linux, many people that I know gave up and either ran it through VM or just installed windows as a dual boot.

I know WINE was also having huge problems with random crashes and things like that.

But then again... personally I've never heard of just CS:S causing crashes, usually it's a bit more broad, so maybe there is a way to wrok around it, I just can't say that I know of one :x

with WINE everything was working fine, but ridiculously slow (low&med settings@35 fps(normally i have 120-130)). So I decided to buy cedega. quite nice, everything works like a charm, except for the steam games (steam itself runs great). so there is something crappy in either cedega's support for steam games (although they are officially supported) or there is some kind of code in these games that tackles the emulated windows API.

But I posted in the Steam forums now. Will wait until someone gives me a usefull reply. Will post the solution here on the forums as well.
