View Full Version : A suggestion for new hacks

We have all seen screen shots of the VAC update program that a few select people have. Now I was thinking about this the other night, why doesn't some one incorporate something like that into their hack so that hack can basically tell you if it undetected or not, or just have the hack crash if vac is updated, now this would obviously take a trusted hack maker to create because most people would not trust a hack that connects to the internet but if someone did it create a hack like that then we would see a lot less " i was banned " posts.

VAC update detection program just checks the CRC of VAC2.dll to see if it has updated...shouldn't connect to internet lol.

He just compared checking of the "detection status" via internet with checking of the vac module on local machines.
JimJackson:
The basic idea itself certainly ain't bad but making the cheat not work if it has detected a change of the module would not be that great as many people just don't care and want to continue using it, possibly on insecure servers anyways.
The only thing you could think about though would be an alert to the user which tells him that there has been an update,
but then again people who care can and usually will just have a look at this or any other forum where people annoucne and call attention to those changes.

Thats all it does ? I was under the impression that it connects to VAC some how and thats why people don't release it because they don't want their method of connecting to VAC to get blocked. If this is all this program does then why isn't it a public download ? I know I would love to have this program so I can just check every time I play with a hack.

Making the hack crash would be a drastic approach but it would definitely keep people from being banned, but like you said it wouldn't be good for people who play in non-secure servers. but a hack that could tell you the last time VAC updated would definitely be a great feature that way people who want to risk getting banned can use it and people who prefer to play it safe and not get banned can decide not to use it. If some one would just release the VAC detection program than It wouldn't matter but until that happens a hack that does almost the same thing would be awesome.

i say it's a nice suggestion to make or include a vac2 dumper in or with the cheat.

thanks holz
I think this is just as good without the need to code into hacks..

If some one would just release the VAC detection program [..].
What you fail to understand is.. there are TWO programs out, which identify VAC updates client side. Holz has posted the one most commonly known and used by the public, Organner's VAC2 dumper.
http://www.organner.pl/DOWNLOAD/VAC2DUMPER.rar
Pictured here is the one only a select number of "elite" community members use.
http://planetmayhem.org/files/images/vacfp9.gif
This one shows the checksum value of client side updates. This will not a be given to the public. It does have a slight better ability than the public version. Only slight. Both will not/can not show server side updates.

Here's an idea. Why don't we just not cheat, then your troubles will not be realized. Or, create your own VAC dumper, or use Organner's. Its all there, right in front of you. I used to give, as a service, the ability to locate a client side update to my forum members. It would be up to them individually to stop using what cheats came out before the update. You can do the same.

What about you stop being an elitist prick? That could work.
Discussions about private cheats isn't allowed at MPC, so im pretty sure discussing other private files is forbidden aswell.

inject a stub dll into steam.exe that hooks critical vac2 functions. this will let the user play on insecure servers without needing to crash or disable the cheat.

But wait.. hold up, hold up.. do you see me getting away with it though?
Why? Its VAC.. its the info you guys so desperately want to have, to understand, to be able to circumvent.
Its this picture that keeps you all in your place.

And.. giving your logic, VAC is a private file, maintained by Valve. Why are we allowed to discuss this? Your logic fails, its apart of you, you fail.

Are you serious? That screenshot doesn't help a single person here, additionally it does not inform anyone of any information that people did not yet know - other then the fact that people with sticks up their asses use a slightly different program.
The reasons that this idea isn't really a good idea is because a client update does not mean you're going to get detected, lack of a client update also doesn't mean that you're safe from being detected.

ok so this is the output from the VAC dumper after two diffrent opens and closes of css
13:01:14-> VAC2 Dumper by ORGANNER v 1.0 has been started!
13:01:44-> Loading VAC2: [C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\~791.tmp] RetAddress: [2f3a931]
13:01:44-> VAC2 Module CRC32: [84388050]
18:44:53-> VAC2 Dumper by ORGANNER v 1.0 has been started!
18:45:24-> Loading VAC2: [C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\~81A.tmp] RetAddress: [300a931]
18:45:24-> VAC2 Module CRC32: [84388050]
I am assuming that [84388050] is what would change if there is an update is that correct ?
