Well, these are config cvars, not everybody knows what they mean.

You dont necessarily need to. Just turn everything down/off from options.

I find turning the SHADOWS off to have a big impact in frames. I leave everything else to the max.

Yeah, thats obvious, but using these cvars granted me extra 20-30 fps.

where is the file located where you change these?

I dont know I cant find the file, but if you REALLY need the fps boost you can open your console and individually enter the codes. I'd just search your COD4 folder to find it.

what gets me is the airstrikes and it makes no sense, i have such a powerful comp, and no matter what settings i use it still lags me

when airstrikes are called it gets too choppy to even play for like 5-10 seconds and annoys the **** outa me

why dont you just pass out the config file? its easier. Then you can change resolution and voilá
