WHAT IS the "alpha team" ?

hhm when i join a few servers i get invited to join a fire alpha team or sumthing like that, what is that? and what is their objective>?

an alpha or bravo team has a list of frienldy players with their locations on the grid map and their health. it quite useful when your a medic, or trying to make a push with that person.
