Some may know how to do this i did not and figured it out and would like to help out so here ya go.....
Ok fist you need both patches
1.2-----http://files.filefront.com/Call+of+Duty+4+Modern+Warfare+v12+Patch/;9092352;/fileinfo.html

1.Ok now you need to go into your c o d 4 dir and find the version.ini open it and chang the 1.3 to 1.0 has to be 1.0 or it wont work.
2.Close that and go to "run>regedit>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\call of duty 4" now were it says version right click and hit modify and change that to 1.0 as well.
3.Run the 1.3 patch again it will as if you want to uninstall do it...next run the 1.2 patch it will ask/say the same as 1.3 do it.
4.Now all you need to do is run the 1.2 patch one last time and ur done open cod 4 multiplayer and look in the bottem left corner shoud be 1.2xxx
