Well.. Finally, after 7 monthes that baby is up and running :) Great job everyone who participated in it, specially Sno (thanx bud) and Hebe and of course to Klandestine for paying for the host.


Oki, now FTP is located @ http://www.mpcgaming.co.uk/

I'm mailing to Dark now so can create new subdomain called http://FTP.MultiPlayerCheats.de then we can link to it.

What I also need is Sno remaking colors of the ftp so they match forums and portal (will be up very soon if not up yet)

Again, great job peeps and let's hope this baby will work w/o any problems!

PS @ Dark Blaze : Remember to make a team for looking after FTP / uploading / changing etc.

This site has a lot of difficulties... no supprise considering the bandwidth it uses. You could try splitting the download section up between 2 different servers (have two mirrors that people can choose). That way, if one goes down for some unexplained reason, the other can recover.

errr..... well yeah if we had a second server, there would be no doubt about it.... we would have a mirror, unfortunatelly since this site doesn't make any proffit off of the users here we cannot afford another server, the one we have for the ftp is being donated to us by one of our members, klandestine (he is also offering hosting to others quite cheap, contact him for more details), the forums server is being hosted by a hosting company, it is also either volunteered or quite cheap (I can't seem to remember if we pay anything for it or no).

Anyways as you can see unless the admins/owners of this site want to shell out over $100/month each to keep this site up and to have several mirrors, we have to rely on kind people who donate servers to us.

I will look into it ASAP and try to find out what the problem is ( i don't think it is the bandwidth, but if it is, i will sort a second server out).

Sno, when the files were uploaded did u check for keygens etc???

With so many users, im sure you could make money off of it relatively easily... (email lists, popups, more banners). But since the download section is almost always up, there is no need for more cash inflow.

well I'm sure that we could make alot of money off of users too, but...... we preffer to give our users the best atmosphere possible, and mailing lists, popups and banner adds just don't help that, so unless it's absolutelly necissery or unless we find a deal that we thing would benifit us and cause as little problems as possible for our users, I doubt that you will see us making much money off of our users anytime soon.

It MAY not be that, but Americas Army Forum users are starting to complain to cheat site hosts/isp about hack/cheats on the websites hosted.

It's called Operation Shutdown and they are trying, like the name says, to shutdown websites like MPC.

3gb space means we can host a whole ton of cheats, and no bandwidth limits means people can download them all the time without fear of getting us kicked out of the ftp server.

The FTP is up now, but it can't be opened until certain security measures are taken, otherwise people could easily take it down......

glad to see the ftp is finally back up. i do not have any recent cheats to be posted as i have not coded in...oh lets see, a gods age. but if you would like some of the older stuff i have i can search for it on the various discs i have of the old old mpc related things. maybe just general info or actual cfgs or cheats etc. send me a pm or msg on irc whoever is running the ftp if they need help managing it as i have experience with it (as i was going to host the ftp originally but i left for the army and then i had my account disabled...). if i can be of any help i would love to do so.
