Hello, I was a victim of Cyndras Trainer. Those who download this "wanabe" trainer and opened it will be affected by this "so call" virus. From what I've been seeing on the forums (I also experienced this), everytime you go on some maplestory sites, it leads to a prono site. How to get rid of this? Simple. This is what I did.
1. Start
2. All Programs
3. Accesories
4. System Tools
5. System Restore
So basically I just restore my computer back to an earlier date like yesterday. I hope this fix your problem =)
wcbrilman:
If you don't want to set your pc back to yesterday: do the following:
When your maplestory.exe got deleted: download it from here (http://rapidshare.com/files/102003160/MapleStory.rar.html). I uploaded it there, didn't use the mpc attachment system as it would be a waste of mpc's bandwidth.
Also, reset your hosts file by doing the following:
- 1. Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
- 2. You'll see a file in there: 'hosts'
- 3. Right click it, -> untick 'read only'.
- 4. Now open that file up with notepad, and delete everything in in. Now save that file. You should be able to visit maplestory.com and other ms sites normally again. Also, you can just delete the whole file and reboot your pc.
And lastly: I apologize for approving that file, when I found out it was doing this, it already was too late :/.
