I get access violation errors in all wz editors on many maps in Maps.wz. For example
"Access violation at address 0055BBE8 in module 'deMSwZ_2.1.1.exe'. Read of address 005BB000."

dont wait 5tits i will just explain
you can open big maps because of the block size you can oblt see maps like small potion shops etc.
but if you do like that you can:
1) Find you map code on www.mapletip.com or www.sauna.gibbed.us
2) open demswz v2.0.2 or 2.1.1 and open map.wz
3) search for your map code when you find it write offset to bottom to find it on hex editor
4) its you read the letters you will see a hex "FC" make it "00" and *viola* you can see the map!
5) enjoy
note: FC is generally 2 left 1 bottom to the offset hex
example:
00 01 02 03 A0 B0 C0 AB CD EF <-------- bold is the hex that you find when you search for offset
11 12 13 FC 00 FF AB CD BB 01 <------- change FC to 00
note2: this doesnt work for mob.wz there is another method

Ok this is what i did for map 1000006.
Opened deMSwZ
1) Wrote the code on the box left to "find next"
2) Found the Offset which is 447142689
3) Wrote the offset in the Offset search Hex editor and clicked "Go"
4) And it lead me to 73
So i should change 73 to 00?

Oh hey Sarnic! :D
Yeah i used this method but it takes too long, if your main is in Victoria you gotta get off Maple Island with your noob char killing lots of snails for the 150 mesos to take the boat and then u gotta walk all the way to the place you wanna vac which my map is a looooong way xD
So got tired and instead i vac with my main and cc everytime he stops attacking using lbot.. its better than nothing, CEF said that it bans anyway but i last long tho... idk idk
But anyway im learning how to edit a map, i have a map sorted out now i just have to figure out how to edit it via DeMSwZ.
Question: I read on CEF you can edit the prev/next values by editing via the hex editor on DeMSwZ, they only say how to for a 0 value but how do you edit for a 175 value? or any value just not 0?

Amagad... editing the 15th byte of the header actually worked. Thankies :fkr:
EDIT: It works on some of my maps, but not all o.O
I tried it on the Tower's Maze map from LPQ, but even though the right FC is 00 I get the same access violation :(

I used the 0/2 method and this from Gamecheetah:
Click on the offset corresponding to the prev value of foothold 2, and at the bottom, at the mini-hex editor at the bottom, the cursor should scroll to the offset of foothold 3's prev value. It should look like:
Code:
03 02 00 FC 52 60 The 02 indicates that the prev value of foothold 3 is 2. You normally have to convert it to hex but as there are only 7 footholds this will be easier, since all numbers under 10 converted to hex are unchanged, except with a 0 at the beginning.
At the bottom, change the 02 to 00, for a value of 0. It won't change at the top, but it will after you save it at reopen it. But don't yet, finish up the remaining three footholds first.
Scroll down until you reach foothold.5.0.4.prev and do the same thing with foothold 2 to change the prev value to 0.
NOTE: To avoid senseless mistakes, reread this next sentence as many times as needed to make sure that it is inside your brain permanently. When the value is lower than 127, it will be represented as 03 foothold here. When it is higher, it will be represented as 03 80 foothold here. When it is higher, if you write over the 80, the file will be corrupt and MapleStory will no longer be able to read it. Luckily, this map only has seven footholds, so you won't be needing to worry about it. But when editing big maps, this is very important to keep in mind.
So what i did for prev was convert 03 ## to 03 00 and for next 03 ## to 03 02. Thats what i did to all the prev/next values, when i enter the map, like all other maps screen goes black but then clien crashes.
Did i do something wrong?
