Question about how VAC2 operates.

A "friend" of mine (leader of the clan I am in) recently said some stuff that seems a little on the "full-of-shit" side so I'm just wanting to see how the people here, who are knowledgable of the way VAC works, would have responded to what he said.


Allegedly he has a contact at VAC who gets him information if he needs it, and he says that his "contact" says that VAC was spectating my account 2 months before it was banned. I did not think that VAC2 operated that way. Obviously I know about delayed bans but he mentioned specifically VAC was spectating my account two months before it was banned. Now the other clan members suck this up as the truth easily because they don't know much. But I dunno, I just didnt think that's how VAC operated.

Note the fact he says he has a contact at VAC that is willing to look into accounts for him..

Either way I just want to add a bit of knowledge to my banks.

VAC2 scans the games memory with ReadProcessMemory() for any modification, Scans process lists for loaders & blacklisted programs, scans for hidden modules , scans for window titles and a few other methods.

That guy is a moron, VAC2 do not ban from demo's, screen shots or anything of the kind.

I agree with this, your friend is full of shit and there is no "VAC-organization" or anything, it's just Valves anticheat program, not any group where people will gather to lurk on demos and ban cheaters l****ingmao. When raging servers i've already seen tens of these guys who tell me that they have contacts at "VAC" and will get me banned lol. Dont believe everything your "friends" on internet tell you. There is 100% no way that you would get VAC banned because someone of Valve employees would of seen demo or screenshot of you cheating, that system is completely automatic and flags your account when detects cheat. Then lets not confuse VAC2 with Steambans system which is different, Steambans protects some servers and there is staff which will review demos of peoples and get their accounts banned from all Steambans.com protected servers if cheating happened at Steambans.com protected server. However, it wont get your account VAC2 banned so if someone threatens to take demo of you and server is not Steambans.com protected u have nothing to worry about.

EDIT: AARGH I STILL HAVE DIFFICULT AT UNDERSTANDING ITS 2009 ALREADY. Sorry for reply to old thread :S
