View Full Version : Red Guard bayonet

I remember reading in the beta that at one point China's Red Guard unit had a special bayonet charge attack. Sure enough, in weapon.ini theres a 'RedGuardBayonet' section. It would be nice to have this back by editing 'CommandSet.ini.' I tryed adding this line in 'ChinaInfantryRedguardCommandSet'

2 = Command_ChinaInfantryRedGuardBayonet

but it gave a serious error on start, so that's not right. Lets try to figure this one out.

to use this weapon you must open factionunit.ini and replace Weapon = PRIMARY RedguardMachineGun to Weapon = PRIMARY RedguardBayonet or add a Secondary weapon
Weapon = SECONDARY RedguardBayonet

Thanks DassFDX, I've almost got this perfected now. I'm aiming to get it working like ranger flashbangs. eg: You click the buttons and it switches between rifle and bayonet. The only problem right now is that the button for bayonet is greyed out and you can't click it. Heres what I've done so far:

In FactionUnit.ini in the red guard weaponset section:


WeaponSet
Conditions = None
Weapon = PRIMARY RedguardMachineGun
Weapon = SECONDARY RedGuardBayonet

In CommandButton.ini after all the RedGuardCaptureBuilding stuff:

Command = SWITCH_WEAPON

Options = CHECK_LIKE OK_FOR_MULTI_SELECT

The problem is that even though I took out the upgrade requirements, the button is greyed out like it needs an upgrade, a possible solution might be to make it use a different upgrade such as capture building, but I want to avoid that.

What does Red Guard bayonet do? Is it really worth trying to work out then things like all techs from start of game and carpet bombs from start can be worked out?
The bombs from start would own!

The bayonet is very useful for killing infantry. It's an especially good counter to flashbangs. Anyway, I'm off to england for a few weeks, try to work from where I've started.

Go look at the Ranger code for upgrading flashbangs and using them and stuff. Or you might already have.

This is implemented in one of the Generals add ons. 'New tech mod' or something. The bayonet is an extremely useful anti-infantry weapon. 1 hit, 1 kill.

Did you end up realesing any other cheats besides the burning barricades? It works ok but I cant sell them for some reason

I don't think you can selll them because they aren't programmed into the game to be sold.

Slissik: Yeah sorry I have a habit of doing that (sending PM's to people without 30 posts). I don't think it's important now though.

All u need to do is lay them out. Then you have a row. After that you click on each seperate 1 to stop the construct **Push C on your Keyboard** there u go, theres your 50:bored: what was so hard about that?
