I'd like to start talking about what IW is planning on for their future updates so that we are ahead of the game when they come out.

If anyone has any info on their future plans as far as built-in AntiCheat/Hack Detection goes... Post it here.

This way when they do update, we are ready for it and we can get the hacks out faster.

Will there be Punkbuster support in the near future?
IW-jRandom: we are researching what the best anti-cheat solution is to date.

IW-Frustrum: We haven't found any cheats for our game other than the gl driver cheats. We plan to address these, and any future cheats that come up.

what sort of development tools or SDK package will be released for amateur developers to mod with?

Is there an ETA on when you guys might release the first patch for the game? And what kind of content/fixes are you planning to include?

What are your plans, if any, to balance weapons like grenades, scoped rifles, etc. And if you are in the process of adjusting those weapons, will we see it in the first patch or one following?
IW-Frustrum: There will be a weapon tuning pass in the next patch.

IW-Frustrum: We are tightening up the kill-boxes, making the sniper rifle slower to bring up the scope, and some other things we are trying

this plus some new maps; some new guns, like pistols for the russians and the british, as well as some other guns that they want to add without having to add code... they want to leave it open so anyone can make guns and add them to the game, unlike just replacing guns in mohaa.

yeh this is back from like the 22nd of november and they said the patch was going into testing in about 2 weeks, so i figure its been in testing 2-3 weeks.... should be out any day now... i doubt theyre going to even try to address opengl hacks in this release, atleast anything major, because they have conflicting views on the subject.. theyre also suppose to be adding banning by cd key (not the actual key but a guid is generated blahblahlbahl like punkbuster style) all that means is gg keygens, rofl. no way in hell iw is going to be able to keep up with shit... people are always stopping by on irc asking about cod and showing off their latest shit.. even today:

Hmm that screeny is purty. Yeh... mGuy (null), Monk, and I, as well as a few others, have just about got PB stopped on SOF2, after we get that working, it's pretty much universal :)

As far as punkbuster go, -please- don't be posting any info on how you are hooking the game on here, do it in private, cuz someone mentioned that getprocaddress() method for GL hooking and what do you know, days after the post, a PB update (globally for all PB'd games) and the method was useless for me (and others) .. But it could just be a matter of timing w/ them.

But personally to me, I do think anti-cheating is a good idea (in leagues) but the amount of power PB has over your.. game.. is just pushing it's limits.

I hate people taking ****ing screenshots of me.

If they actually implement the PB in this game will it follow the same general outlines that they have followed for all games with PB. Because if this is so then My work around on this anticheat should work with COD. Ha like the black screen code you use does it really work. Just Wondering. :bunny:

At some point, you gotta wonder.. why the heck do they even bother with Anti-cheat progs etc... they know, and we know, that they will be cracked or bypassed within HOURS usually, or at least within a few days...and everythime, they have interviews, saying.. bla bla bla.. we got new tools, and new PB updates that will come out ever week/month/year.. so we'll finally get the upper hand..i just break out laughing...

but, heres why..they know they will never get the upper hand on cheats, and espically NON-public released cheats..( which are usually the real bad ones or good depending which side your on) BUT they have a duty to stop cheats from plageing their game... and they have to uphold that... even though they know they WONT get the upper hand, or ever get ride of all cheats... but for the sake of there company, they HAVE TO implement some ANTI-cheats.. to keep there name up there...

when was the last time you heard the FBI say.. oh we cant sstop drug runners. so lets not even try... they know they CANT stop it.. but they have to try anyway. to keep there public appeal up ..

They do that because it can weed out some of the people. Like the people that come here and dont know how to make there own and get it from public releases. If they didnt try at all there would be 100x as many cheaters.

I guess you can think of it this way. Think of cheats as viruses and anticheats as antiviruses. There will always be a virus that will get past a antivirus scanner. No you can't stop them, when installing patch 1.04, they will ask you to agree with their license. So you just permit them to install punkbuster.
But what's the problem ? you can still play on non pb servers with your hack.

Coming from the RTCW / ET community I know this since we are fighting PB a lot longer.....

But there will come PB proof hacks, the coders will always find ways arround PB, atleast in RTCW / ET they do.

They only difference is that in Cod you have 1 cd-key so a global ban is a bad thing......
So watch carefully what you do...

i have played on many servers the last days until punkbuster came out. And i used the old "hacks" for the 1.3 version and nothing happend. No punkbuster reaction. The only hack that doesnt work is taurines codbot. it doesnt start with the new CoDMP.exe.

So taurine plz make a new version of your codbot for the 1.4 version ;)


So my quetion: Why is there a punkbuster thing, when no cheats are detected.

PB just came out and there concered as much with the cheats being detected as they are with compatibility with PB and working out any issues they may have in that area but rest asure these cheats will be detected when they update so i would use these cheats with caution

It seems all openGL hacks are found when used, and thus people using it will be kicked. I didn't get the chance to write down the error it showed, but no matter what I tried to create a detour, I still got kicked. PB is giving me a hard time hehe

Server admins that has screenshot protection turned on, on their server can view the screenshots. The player guid is posted with that screenshot, so a server admin can actually ban a cheater afterwards.

so its better to play with PBSSblocker even if this is the more dangerous way to get a global ban... just have to figure out a way to send fake screenie or so instaed of a black one.... maybe just something like :
use Runnin hack -> PB wants a screen -> turnin of hack automaticly -> take screenie -> turn hack back on automaticly
maybe someone wants to work on that? i would share my source and voidstuff with him (i mean a TRUSTED person!) so we can build our own shit outta UR programming knowledge and my ideas? im not that good in codin sry ... just have the right source (modified a bit - added voids and so on) and tested it a long time.
i never been caught or kicked.... after that we could release some hacks based on this and just change the void parts for other users (i mean we have one privat with our voidshit and give an edited version to public ?!) all it needs is a PBSSblock and maybe some other features .. it has WH Xhair and nofog ... u can have it toggleable or not toggleable (i use the not toggleable - cuz i thought if there are switches or so it might be easier to detect?)

Ok reading throught the forum I found no answer to this question: What warrants a global PB ban and what warrants a local Punksbusted ban? As I understand it only reason to get a GB is to mess up with PB software eg something like SS blocker, for everything else its only PUNKSBUSTED ban am I wright, can someone clear this up for me>

i just want to know if i can do this if i just start my own server just to see if it is detected or not so i dont use it in other servers...... but im not sure if it catches me on my own server if it will send my guid to PB!!!! i cant buy anymore games so i dont want to be banned agin.

it will only be send wenn autoupdate is enabled in pb settings!!
Play on server --> PB detect cheat then the admin have to manually put the violation line into pbbans.dat!!!

by next update the line will be integrated into evenbalance.com pbbans.dat and by next update he will be listet in the bigone!

The autoupdate only works ive your server is registerd at evenbalance.com!!

it dosnt matter if dedicated or not! Your always online when you opne up a server!

hm the hack could be send but on the MBL you will normaly not be listed!!

So start server try hack and normally you would be banned or kicked from your own server!!
Normally after kicking theres a line in your Servers PB Log (cheat.log viol.log dont know the real name oft them but there are two)

ok and to be listet in MBL you have to be regsiterd by punksbusted or even, and you must manually put the violationline in pbbans.dat!

Ive youre kicked by your own server delete the line in vio.log or wherever he is listed delete it and your able to come back again on your server!!

BlackDove has a custom guid hack,

but i think he charges people money for it,

and pb will only MBl & hardware ban if you interact with it,

if u get caught hackin on a server, they ban u,

i one of my MoH:AA hacks i made a forced screenshot hack bypass by intercepting the screenshot command and when they take screenshot it quickly takes the hacks off and takes a screenshot and then puts the hacks back on...although i did lose this code along with intoxication 1 and all my other stuff when i did a clear up i deleted all of my work cause i was pissed off

Yesterday i got global ban GUID, reinstalled the game with a new cd-key and changed IP.
it did not work. (could not join any server even non-pb servers)

now the game is working again on all servers, this is a relief, i thought i had a hardware ban.

i am never using aimbot again in a pb server !

why it took so long for the game to work again (± 20 hours) ?

I have changed mac address + used hardware spoofer taken by this forum, i've uninstalled game, clean windows registry, renistalled game with new cd-key, changed name of player and at the fist check of PB all is ok. But 20 minutes later i've got again Global Hardware ban.

u have 1,000s of other non pb servers to choose from,
if you wish to hack on pb servers,

In theory could you add someone's GUID to the cheater.log file & it'll globally ban someone? Hopefully it's more sophisticated than that.

Servers that run the AMBL from Punksbusted.com stream the logs in real time to a central repository. So if a shady admin falsifies his cheater.log and sends it in, it wont match the log from the repository. That admin would be removed from PsB as well.

The same applies to GUID injectors for pb screenies. An admin can falsify the screenie but again, the MD5 wont match the repository. And again, the offending admin would be removed.

Its a well thought out system, designed to minimize legit players from being banned.

The Master ban lists from any PB server will most likely be brought over/shared, simply due to the large amount of ppl who share their banlists at Punkbusted.com and other such places...and lets face it the ban function probably wont be any different in the expansion.

And I agree, hardware bans are really kinda bent, the companies making the games must be losing money, or at least they'll start to, Hell if I was PB Hardware banned, I sure as heck wouldnt be playing as many online games anymore.

In short:

The ban lists will Probably be brought over.

I think youre wrong. Hardware banned cheaters are a small minority compared to the number of legit players and regular guid banned cheaters. And, odds are, if you try to bypass an Anticheat system in one game, youll probably do the same in another game. So, by eliminating cheaters across all pb games via a hw ban, legit players buying pb games have a better chance of playing with folks that dont cheat. So they will buy more pb protected games. Theyll make more money, not less.

Anyway, you can still play on non pb servers.
