Is there a program to remove files that are protected or are bad. My hard drive had errors on it and screwed it up to where I cant delet anything. So I need a program that will over ride it. I dont care if I whip out everything on the drive.

usually restarting and going into safemode will allow you to delete them.. (protected), if it's on a bad sector.. there's nothing much you can do about it.. maybe formatting? but the bad sector will still be there since it's a physical damage.. sell it off to some noob or something :>

Bad sectors, unless the drive is brand new or got droped are bad news...

once I start finding them I'ts Usually time to get a new drive.

Short of that, back up what you need, do a through scandisk, and reformat

also safe mode or a dos prompt is the best method for deleting files that windows won't let you delete normaly

Most likely a bad sector, took me about 8 hours formatting my 40gb.
After it's formatted, i did not want to perform a scandisk as it will mark those sectors as bad sectors.. (since i sure anyway), so i quickly, and cheaply sold it :p

once you format there is no bad sectors. If that was true I would be pissed cause I would loose 10gigs off my harddrive.
