Well since this board appeared to be dying, I figured I'd post this. I used to play the VC demo every day before ET came out, and here's a few things I used to do. It's probably all common knowledge now, but since the old posts are lost I couldn't check to see if this stuff had already been discussed. Anyway, I hope it helps somebody...
First of all, remember that these methods are for the Vietcong multiplayer DEMO, and probably won't work on the full version. If you don't have the demo, download it at http://www.fileplanet.com/files/110000/117937.shtml
1. Flying - OK everybody wants to know how to fly, LOL. First of all, this only works on the UN-patched demo, so don't install the patch, use v0.96 (the default download). There are a few places to do it, but two are the best/easiest and most common, so I will only describe those. The best place is the crashed helicopter. Lie down at the bottom of the bent rotor blade that's touching the ground, and climb up it. Once at the top, where the blade is flat, turn to your left and crawl off the edge so you fall onto the roof of the helicopter. If all goes right, you will simply fall through the roof and "into" the c o c k p i t (that word was censored by the forum so I had to add spaces). Now change from a crawling position to a crouching position, and walk out of the copter. Once outside the copter, press jump and you will keep going up (you're flying)! This is where it gets tricky. You will not stop flying upwards until you "lie down" in the air, BUT, if you continue lying, you will fall to your death. What you need to do is lie down for a second, then stand. Now you will stay at one height and be hovering above the ground. To move higher, jump. To move lower, quickly crawl then stand. To move around, use the same keys as normally and you will walk in the air. With practice you can fly above enemies then swoop down from the sky and knife them in the back, then zoom back up and find another victim. >:] It's also quite fun to drop down and grab the other team's flag then fly away before they can shoot you, hehe. Flying also provides you with access to many prime sniping spots that you can't normally reach. Once in the sky, you will see several hilltops that have holes in the top. This is because under normal circumstances you can't see that high, so the game makers didn't bother to "finish" the tops off. You can drop down into these holes and still see through the walls of the rock, yet enemies cannot see you. It's fun to wait 'till one passes by, then walk out through the side of the mountain and stab him in the back. You can also go "outside" the map when flying, so you can move around at ground level but remain unseen, except by dead players who are spectating. Another fun thing to do is hang out UNDER the map and follow enemies, then pop up out of the ground to kill them. Now, sometimes when you drop from the helicopter blade onto the roof, you will keep falling through the ground and become very disoriented, because you will see no landscape around you, only sky and very distant mountains. You need to QUICKLY press jump, and keep looking up untill you see the bottom of the map approaching from above. This may take several seconds, so just keep looking up. Eventually you will rise up through the ground and continue into the sky, then just use the controls as described above to move around.
The other flying spot is on the American side of the map. It is more difficult to describe, but there is a large rock in the area between the stream and the US flag. Not the one that you can cross the log to reach, but more towards the VC base. Next to this large rock, beside the stream, is a small, lighter colored rock that you can easily jump onto. With practice, you can jump from this small rock onto the large one, and at the top of the large rock, there is a hole where the map was unfinished. Drop down into this hole and follow the directions for the helicopter method when you continue falling through the c o c k p i t.
2. God Mode - The game developers left a huge gaping flaw in the game demo that allows you to change your player skin into an "invincible" VC. This requires editing the Windows registry, so if you are not computer savvy, I suggest you don't try this, and I will accept no responsibility if your PC gets hosed. With that said, as long as you follow my directions exactly, you won't mess anything up. First, if you havn't changed your player skins in the game menu, do so, because otherwise the required entries will not be written to the registry. Now, go to "Start > Run" and type "regedit" (without the quotes), then click "OK". Now, browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pterodon\Vietcong\Mult iplayer\VC". Click "VC" and in the right pane you will see an entry called "Body BES". Right click it, and choose "modify". Change "Ini\Players\net_vc_poor1.ini" (or whatever yours is) to "Ini\Players\poorvcimmortal.ini" then click "OK" and close Regedit. You will now have "God Mode" when you play as a VC. Do NOT change your player skin from the game menu, and do NOT change your name, or God Mode will be disabled again. You cannot choose your VC skin with God Mode, what you see is what you get (the default VC with dirty pajamas and no hat). It will take a helluva lot more to kill you now, but you CAN still die (although by the time you do die, you will have huge gaping chest wounds, no face, and missing limbs, hehe). As for the US side, if you want God Mode, you have to use the same skin, but enter it in the "US" part in Regedit. Yes, as you've guessed, you will be on the US side but look like a VC, and all your teammates will be shooting at you, LOL.
3. Unlimited Ammo - This is very easy to do using a program called GameWiz32, which is made for freezing values in your PC memory to cheat in single player games. However, it also happens to work with the VC demo (the only multiplayer game I've seen it work for so far). Download GameWiz32 at http://www.gw32.de/ and read the manual. I won't describe the method in detail here, but to summarize using the AK-47 as an example: while holding the AK-47, select the Pterodon Engine (which is the Vietcong game) with GameWiz32, search for "28" (the number of rounds in a fully loaded AK-47). GameWiz32 will search your RAM for this value. When it finds it, expend a few rounds in the game, and search again for the number of bullets currently in the clip. Keep doing this until GameWiz32 shows you 2 or 3 possibly values, select one, click the "Freeze" box and slide the freeze speed slider all the way up. Now go back to the game and if you selected the right value, you can shoot forever and never run out of ammo. :)
4. Speed Hack - Again, easy to do but requires a program, called SpeedHackNT. You can get it at http://www.goodhacks.com/hacks/counter-strike/speedhacknt.zip (if you use Windows 9x/Me, try http://www.goodhacks.com/hacks/counter-strike/speedhack98.zip). I believe it's also here on the forums somewhere but I just did a quick search for it on Google, sorry if that site isn't allowed here. Follow the manual, but basically you just select the Pterodon Engine with SpeedHackNT, click "Hack Selected Process", then go back to the game and hit the + key on the keypad a few times. Now you can run so fast nothing can touch you, LOL. Beware however that if you crank up the speed too high your connection will suffer. Use the - key on the keypad to lower the speed if that happens.
5. Fun Stuff - There are TONS of useless but funny skin hacks for the VC demo. I can't list them all, but here are a few you can try:

*Edit* Writing this made me want to mess around in the game again for old time's sake, and also do some searches for newer cheat methods, and I made some VERY interesting discoveries. I have tested a few of them so far, so if anyone cares, maybe I will post more later. :)
